Booked a basic gel manicure here before a vacation, and by the time I arrived at my destination the next day, two of my nails had already peeled off entirely. Not chipped but fully peeled in one piece. By the end of the trip, all ten were gone. It would literally flake off with no effort from something like washing my hands. My first technician barely filed or prepped my nails before applying the gel. When I went back to get them fixed, I was assigned a different technician who went way too hard. She filed so aggressively it burned, and my nails were visibly damaged afterward. I still had to tip her, which felt frustrating considering it was a fix for poor initial work. I get that she thought I was being too rough with the nails so she filed extra hard so that it would stay, but the only reason the original gel didn't stay is because I never got properly buffed and filed in the first place, not because I was rough with them. The gel manicure cost $60, which is not cheap. I tipped the first technician, the second technician who "fixed" it, and had to pay for parking twice. I expected better training and consistency across technicians. Parking is validated for two hours, but that might not be enough. I had an appointment and still waited around 35 minutes before anyone was available. The full visit lasted over two hours, so I ended up paying for parking on top of everything else. read more

I'm leaving this review because this place has never once honored my appointment time. I always make an appointment in advance, yet every single time I come in, I end up waiting at least 20-30 minutes, sometimes longer. Not once have I been taken at my scheduled time. If customers are expected to make appointments, then what is the point if they're never respected? I plan my day around these bookings, and repeatedly having my time wasted is extremely frustrating. My time is valuable too -- who is compensating customers for constantly waiting past their appointment time? It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

Had a bizarre and unpleasant experience with Joanna. I came in two weeks ago after having gel on my nails for several months. Knowing my nails were feeling weak, I initially requested a regular manicure to give them a break. Joanna questioned this choice and ultimately convinced me to try GelX, explaining it as a protective method that wouldn't touch the first layer of my nail. I agreed to give it a try. Within one week, 4 out of 10 nails had chipped extensively. I had booked a follow-up appointment two weeks after the initial set for a fresh set. I arrived on time and waited about 30 minutes while Joanna finished another service, which I understood happens. When she finally came over--while still eating--she asked how the set held up. I showed her my nails and explained that GelX might not have been the best option for me, especially since I was about to leave for a three-week vacation and needed something durable. I also noted that the set I had before GelX lasted over three weeks. She became defensive and told me she expected the nails to chip because they were weak, saying we needed to wait for new growth. When I pointed out that my previous set lasted three weeks, she loudly responded, "Yeah, well were your nails in this state? Because right now, they're really bad." I ultimately opted for a regular manicure and canceled my pedicure because the service felt rushed and the interaction felt disrespectful. I wasn't upset about the chipping or the wait time--I was frustrated that I asked for guidance and was met with hostility. Do NOT come here. Horrible. I hate nail places that advertise one thing yet do another. If a place closes at 9 you don't stop taking people at 8. Walked in and no one greeted me, I asked if someone can help me and they rude Asian women said no we have to many people already. Mind you there were only 3 people inside and they had 3 women working so it very well could have been done. I wasted $6 on parking for no reason. Honesty don't come here, it's over priced and the lady's are fucking rude. There are ALOT more spots in ktown that do a way better job and will accept you even after they close. That's good business. Never coming here again. Unfortunately for them the lost at least 150 bucks cause I always spend that much on my manicures if the work is good. Wish I could give zero stars. I walked into this nail salon with my sister without an appointment, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The entire staff was welcoming and kind, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Julia, in particular, was incredibly patient and sweet throughout the entire process. She took her time, made sure we were happy with everything, and truly made the experience feel personal and relaxing. We left with beautiful nails and big smiles. Have been going to the other locations but decided to try the Hobart location since I live close by and this will now be my go-to nail salon. She did a fantastic job was gentle and very detail oriented. I have very small toe nails and she still managed to make it look like I had more nail. Overall 10/10. Encouraged by my great experience I came in Friday 6/19 for another same day booked appointment for my partner and I this time. I wanted to treat her and get myself a manicure. This time I asked for Lois but she was booked so we got Jane. I figured all the nail techs would be the same quality. I understand that we were one of the last appointments of the day but the whole process felt very rushed with this nail tech, she was a bit rough on the nails for my partner and gave little cuts along her cuticle lines. I know it's a long day and having three sets of nails to do starting at 5:30 pm is a lot but I don't think that should change the quality of the job. My manicure came out nicely and she wasn't as rough with me and she is very good with nail shaping. But I watched how fast and rough she was with the nail cutting and cuticle trimming with my partner. We didn't say anything because we could feel she was just trying to get it done. At the end of the day we were looking at my partner's nails and saw that they were not evenly coated and had several gaps in the color because the polish wasn't applied evenly. Typically I wouldn't mind, but it was a rough process for her that was meant to be a relaxing treat and for the both of us 3 regular services 2 manis 1 pedi it was $125. I think for that much money A) there should be no cuts on my partner's cuticles and B) the coats should at least be evenly applied. I still tipped $20 dollars cash because I saw other reviews saying that nail techs asked for tip if you don't so just in case I tipped well (I would think) on top of the prices being high. I really like Lois's technique so I will only book with her in the future for my partner and I. I am aware we are in k-town and that the quality of polish is high, I think that's why the service should be equivalent. So either choose your nail tech well or don't book end of day appointments but that's not ideal given some people like my partner work regular 9-5's she still deserves quality service too. Picture of my partner's cut cuticles and uneven polish below. Also manicures are dry, didn't like that, I prefer a little soak before going into a dry nail filing followed by mechanical cuticle trim proceeded by a burning acetone rimming before polish. Not a soothing feeling.

There's quite the competition in k-town + this place is SO underrated and has made its mark -- I almost want to gatekeep it so I can always have an appointment available for myself! I am personally VERY picky, so much so that I've driven across LA to visit the best studios. I'm so picky with my nail shape, nail health, details, etc but they really focus on caring for your natural nails + always have the most detail-oriented designs and the most elegant, clean manicures if you want something more elaborate. Stacy and Lois are the best technicians and take such pride in their work. And the booking process is always so easy and seamless and I find they always find time to fit you in, even with a busy schedule. I truly recommend this place + hope everyone loves them as much as I do.
