This review is long overdue! I had an appointment with Mia for a facial about two months ago. I was able to schedule an appointment on short notice. The facial I had was so relaxing! I left with super smooth, glowing skin! She was gentle during the extractions which I really appreciated. I can't wait to schedule another appointment to treat myself! I'm just waiting to heal from a small cut I have. I will say, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find parking. There is a small lot on the side of the building but it's usually taken since there are a few businesses along the same road. read more

Very happy with the ambience, customer service and quality of the products. I went into the store and Mia patiently recommended the best facial for a first timer and the difference between sugaring and regular waxing. I arrived a week later and we started off with sugaring my eyebrows, I explained I was trying to let them grow out and she was able to tame them to a respectable wild. Then we moved over to a separate room with a heated bed and fur blanket, everything was very calming and relaxing. The perfect first facial experience. Had an appointment with Kyla for a new client brazillian and brows . She was great ! Very friendly , quick , and would talk to you to distract you . No complaints about her she was wonderful , but I have one for the owner . NO AC ????!! Absolutely unacceptable!!!! Not only is your customer uncomfortable , hot , flushed cheeks , sweating on the table , but this causes so many issues with getting any sugar services done ! This means I am sweeting more , needing more talc powder reapplied over and over , but mid way through we had to switch to a hard sugar because the medium sugar just kept melting on my skin . Unfortunately , I left with a bruise due to this which happens when the sugar melts , sticks to the skin , and force didn't work . I don't blame Kyla at all , I blame the conditions she's working under !! She did the best she could with the hot , humid , and dizzying 80 degrees in a small room would do to anyone . We both had to stop and take water breaks . Two fans blowing warm air isn't going to cut it . Not even a portable air conditioner unit ? Do better . This is unsafe and unworkable conditions for your workers . I feel very bad for them to be in these conditions all day in the middle of summer . I want an enjoying and comfortable environment when you are bearing through a painful scenario to begin with . To the owner , get air conditioning !!!!! read more

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while, but haven't been able to. I was so glad this shop opens early so I could get in and out before work. I believe my esthetician's name was Lindsey. I think this was my first time sugaring and it seemed a little rougher with the removal, but not too painful. She even found a zit or black head in my brow and asked if she could remove it! Score! It seems like my hair is taking longer to grow back then normal so I am happy about that! I will be back! The only downside might be parking since it's such a busy spot! I just parked by the laundry mat and it worked out! read more

Was looking for a new sugar waxer and saw the positive reviews for this place so I decided to try it out. I booked the 2 for $69 client special (and then $45 for touch ups every time after) which is an awesome deal! I had my appointment with Rachel, and while she was nice, I left the appointment covered in wax. She let me know that the room didn't have AC so the max was melting too much which is why that happened, but there were massive clumps of wax all over me when she was done. She left me a warm towel to wipe it down after, but definitely had to come home and shower/scrub pretty well to get the rest off. I've seen raving reviews of other waxers so I will try again with another waxer for my follow up! read more

Kayla is sweet and efficient, but unfortunately there is no AC in their building making for a very uncomfortable appointment. I tried to stick it out a few times since the location is convenient for me, but sugaring with no AC is a recipe for disaster and made it extremely hard on the technician to provide a good sugaring. Will happily reconsider going back if this changes. read more

Giving it a 2 because the service provided was for a Brazilian sugar wax, and my experienced was very rushed,sloppy and messy--i left with sugar and missed areas. Never was provided anything to set my bum on cold table or a warm towel to wipe after the service. Just an overall cold, rushed and messy service. This place falls short compared to other sugar wax shops. If they made a little effort this place could be a get location in Oceanside. Such a bummer wanted to support it. read more

Oh man - I am so excited for a new sugar place. I had a membership to a nearby salon for a monthly sugar but I recently started having problems there. I was at Captains Helm shopping when I noticed the cutest shop - I love the oils they sell they're all handmade in small batches. I got a sugar and last lift by Mia and it was the best. I will definitely be returning. She is so sweet, easy going and comforting and I was totally vibing with the feel of this place. I decided to try a new local sugaring spot and unfortunately I wasn't very impressed. The employee working was not the friendliest and didn't seem to want to be there. Perhaps an off day which we all have, but it hindered my experience. I've been getting sugared at multiple other locations for years and the ladies have always been super bubbly and friendly since they're about to get close and personal, to make you feel comfortable. This was also the most painful sugaring experience I've encountered, and again I've been getting this done for years. Not sure if it was the technique she was doing, the sugar that was used, but usually it's a rip and then a pressure hold to help subside the pain but there wasn't much of a pressure hold at all, just a rip then another rip. Could work for someone else, but wasn't my ideal experience. read more

This was my first time getting sugaring done and all I can say was Lindsay was so welcoming and informative ! I love the atmosphere of this place it felt very clean and modern. As for the sugaring she really made sure to take her time and made me feel comfortable :) I totally would recommend her and sugar lemon water to anyone who needs a self care day!!!
