Service Master was retained by the insurance company after my parents' house fire. Chris assured us everything would be taken care of in a timely fashion. Shortly after his crew of one began the process of packing up my parents' possessions, a flooding situation in a nearby town took Chris and his "crew" to that area to drum up new business. In the meantime, rains continued to fall into the hole in the roof and each day my parents lost more and more of their belongings from water damage and the mold that began growing. Time after time, my parents were given excuses as to why no one was working in their house (covid, employees quitting, lack of space in the warehouse, etc.) and day after day they saw a little more of their home dissipate. It was heart-breaking. When Chris's one employee was able to finish the packing process, his movers came in to complete the task of loading and moving everything to their warehouse. Being a young crew, they cared little about the possessions of others and broke a 100+ year old piece of furniture. How do I know it was SM? This piece was in a room untouched by flames or water and was intact when we turned the house over to SM. Once the house was restored and SM made their delivery we found other casualties. Many of Mom's figurines and other fragile items were either chipped or cracked. All of these were items we had packed ourselves but, for reasons unknown, SM unpacked everything in their warehouse. Apparently they unpack everyone's possessions for a cleaning/ozone procedure. From what has been returned, they obviously unpack everyone's possessions at the same time. Several boxes had items that did not belong to our family. Several family heirlooms and antiques are now missing and we figure are lost for good. With all these problems and faults, SM is offering absolutely NO apology or financial compensation. Chris desperately needs assistance and training in order to provide better service to his customers and accept full responsibility for the damage his employees cause. The Ft. Smith, AR branch of Service Master is one I would NEVER recommend to others.

We contacted Robyn at Westark who immediately dispatched Josh to us. He quickly diagnosed the problem as our old Orangeburg sewer line having collapsed. He showed us the broken pieces to verify what had happened. Utilities were promptly contacted and came to mark the lines. The next day a backhoe arrived to dig up the old collapsed line along with a crew of Caleb, Joseph, Winston, Jared and Brad (I hope I didn't miss anyone). They repaired all lines under the house and front yard. We never hear cussing or complaining from anyone. By the end of the day we had our sewer system back. Great job to everyone who helped!
