I spent a couple of days looking for a piano tuner who seems to have a lot of experience and within my price range and location. I contacted him from his website and he emailed me back within a day. Compared to all the other I contacted, he was very quick. I believed that my piano was extremely bad and needed repairs so we made a two appointment days in case we needed the second day. He came in and quickly gave me a quote which was a lot lower then I expected from his website's price listing and we didn't need a second day. While he was working on the piano, he explained to me a couple of his instruments about what they are and used for. He also told me about worse case scenarios (string breaking) and what the aftermath would be. He was here for a few hours (2-3). He was very respectful and kind. My dog liked him too. :)

I think the difference stems from the incredible amount of care he puts into his students' learning path and their eventual performances. My first teacher basically went page by page in the adult book. Sheng jumped from book to book to not only keep learning interesting but to focus on techniques that were most importantly lacking in the student. She is able to key in on what I need to be doing and coach my voice to produce a clear, supported sound. My brother takes with Mr. Dan for guitar and has made progress so quickly. He seems to be a very knowledgeable man with professional experience, and has also been teaching my brother how to formally read music (since he was just playing by ear before). When you need music lessons, I definitely suggest Rockin' Robin! They teach a variety of instruments (not joice voice and guitar) and all of the staff are so nice and friendly, even if you're not their student!

No flexibility provided - their policy says rescheduling is no guarantee and at discretion. We didn't get any. Didn't give us much information about the teacher they contracted to at the beginning either. Their price point was high compared with local levels, it seems that their fee needs to be taken out before paying the teacher. My questions and later complaints were ignored, and upon repeated requests to cancel my subscription, they still charged me to the point of their response, not when I asked for it. I have since taken my recommendation of them to other families back. Use your local teachers instead!
