I used to loathe going to the dentist, driving me to seek places that will sedate. I honestly can say I no longer fear the dentist, specifically because of people like Dr. Peterson. Of course, a lot of the cleaning is done by her staff, and they are excellent too. They have taken my concerns into consideration and done their best to alleviate any anxiety. I think it a testament to the professionalism and efficaciousness of her practice. Dr. Peterson has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to providing great treatment. It will take you two seconds of interaction with her to realize these things. I am truly grateful I was recommended to see her. As for the physical aspect of her environment, it's very warm and open, no doubt to help ease the nerves of patients. I think each exam room has a tv to also take your mind off of work being done. It has a very modern feel for a dentist's office, and even the instruments they utilize seem to be very modern and cutting edge. At least from what I've experienced elsewhere. This is the first practice ever where I have had to pay taxes for a fully covered preventative service. This is not a normal practice. I was met with a lot of rudeness when asked to have this explained to me. 2. During an appointment we were asked if we wanted fluoride. I asked if my children has already had their one covered for the year, and was told no. Then I was charged for the cost, because we had already had it at the last appointment. When I called to ask, I was told it was not the offices responsibility to know what I had been billed for. Even though they billed my insurance. I felt I was blamed for not doing a better job of checking their billing practices, instead of them questioning whether or not that is a shady practice. 3. The final straw was a shift to only scheduling 2 months in advance even though we should be regularly seen every 6 months. When I called to explain that this practice-serving service I was told if I didn't want to have to pull my children out of school for an appointment I was welcome to call each week to try to get a better time. Did you know that recently I get it feedback and questioning is not always welcomed.
