Of the three previous ones I visited, one didn't have the color I wanted, one did not have a qualified colorist, and the last one required a consultation then a week to two week before an available appointment even though a sign posted states that walkins were welcomed. I walked into Egyptian Hair Styles on Saturday, spoke with the owner, told her what I wanted, and she informed me that any of the stylists could do what I wanted and assured me they have the color I wanted. The next day, Sunday, I did a walkin and was able to get exactly what I wanted. Both days I went, the employees greeted me promptly and was pleasant throughout my entire visit. I was seated in a chair quickly and the stylist began working on my hair. She asked what I wanted and delivered just that. To top it off, the price was reasonable. Parking is shared with other stores in the plaza, but there was plenty space available. I would definitely recommend the team here and would definitely return for and service I need.

Upon visiting, we were both thrilled at how quickly we got in and out (less than an hour) for a wash, dry, and style. We both even took our teenage daughters, too. My girlfriend first realized that something wasn't right upon washing her daughter's hair after only going to George a couple of times. She noticed the texture was straight n stringy n the back and it just didn't feel right. When washing her own hair, she also noticed the same thing and told me about it. Needless to say, when I washed my own head later (in preparation for summer knotless braids), I realized that my hair felt thinner and lighter towards the ends. So, I decided to give it a break from the heat this summer. Upon going to my main stylist, today, she initially felt my hair was ok, but would know for sure once she washed it. Upon washing it, she was upset and stated "my head is not the same head!" She informed me that they were using chemicals on our hair (e.g. relaxer) and we didn't even know it. I have been natural for over 14 years. Apparently, they add chemicals to make our natural hair more manageable, so they can quickly get us in and out. However, it totally destroys our once healthy full head of hair. I will NOT be going back, but definitely felt that I needed to provide this review to inform others as I was once sending George very high praises! Not anymore...

The $15 price difference adds up because I get my hair blown out weekly. That said, Greenbriar is a short drive and on weekdays you can get in and out pretty quick. On a Monday night I was in and out in about 90 minutes, which is record time for a wash, detangle, condition, roller set and blow out. This is my second time going to Videa. I was skeptical at first because I saw flat irons and IMO "real" Dominican shops don't use flat irons. But Videa does and excellent blow out without flat irons. The shop is clean and connected to the gas station. There is ample parking either at the gas station or behind the shop. I've only been twice but most of the AA women who get their hair here have long, healthy real hair...which says a lot in Atlanta...weave capital USA...not throwing shade...just saying it's nice to see real, healthy hair... In conclusion, while I would prefer to pay Norcross prices, I'm willing to pay a little extra for the time I save getting my hair done at this location.

As another woman commented, with coily hair you must detangle gently and from the bottom up. That wasn't done for me. Next you are under the dryer an absurdly long time, not checked in with, no offer of water or anything. The blow dry and style has no regard for preserving the integrity of your natural curls, as I have discovered my leave out is basically bone straight now. Not to mention, I heard my stylist mentioned while looking at my hair, "mala" in Spanish meaning, "bad". Sadly, my hair appeared nice, but it is heat damaged, and I was charged entirely too much for poor treatment. I owe it to myself to warn you, especially if you have coily textured hair, this is not the place for you!
