Great quarantine station! Plenty of cool architecture and friendly staff. There are too few places like this in Australia, where motorists can make new friends while waiting for their turn to be checked for fruit and vegetables. For entertainment Triple J radio can be picked up on the FM band, or if you're lucky you'll find a footy, frisbee or even a tennis ball somewhere in your car! Have some fun, others are sure to join in. Just past the inspection point there's a service station, if you are lucky enough to be a passenger stroll down ahead of the cars and grab a drink. One very important tip: don't litter! There are bins provided for any fruit you might have in your car, use them! Or alternatively eat your fruit, it's heaps good for you. And remember, there really is no point trying to smuggle fruit, on the South Australian side fruit is cheaper, of higher quality and is readily available from the many roadside stalls of the Riverland. read more
