Established in 1982.

Since 1982 Dave & Sandi Stump and the Stump Insurance Team have been assisting local families and businesses with their insurance needs. Stump Insurance began as an independent Insurance agency representing Erie Insurance working out of the Stump home in Poolesville, MD. The Agency has throughout the years increased its direct appointments to represent over 7 Major Insurance Carriers and has expanded to represent MD, VA, DC, NC and TX. Stump Insurance built its business on providing great customer service and treating clients like family. With over 108 years of combined insurance experience Stump Insurance has the knowledge, staff, creativity, products and professionalism to assist you in providing proper protection for your family or business. Stump Insurance is still today a family owned and operated business in the town of Poolesville. While Stump Insurance has grown, our small town charm and manner of treating our clients like family have remained the same.

Meet the Business Owner: Dave S.

Dave Stump Sr. is a life long Maryland son graduating from the University of Maryland in 1976. Dave has a passion for literature graduating with a Literary Degree and has always been an avid reader. After working with Liberty Mutual as a Captive Agent Dave decided he wanted to be his own boss and thus the dream of Stump Insurance was realized. Dave and his wife Sandi opened their doors in 1982 after the birth of their 2nd child Dave Jr (also and agent). Dave and Sandi have 5 children 3 of which are agents today and proud to carry on the great example their father and mother have shown them.
