I have been thinking of getting my 2nd lobe piercing for a few years now, but I always felt like it was too late since all my friends had gotten them in the mall during high school, or went to a tattoo shop. I didnt feel like either of those places were right for me. I also didn't have the option to go to the doctors office again like when I got my first holes when I was 13. When I kept seeing Studs Instagram ads, I knew I should at least see what the hype is about; planning a day trip to the city seemed like the perfect way to get this done! I arrived about 30 minutes early for my appointment, and they told me I would have to wait (which was fine), so I walked around Central Park for a bit. Liv was my piercer, and when I told her I normally pass out with needles she moved me to the other room with the recliner to make me more comfortable. she was so sweet and walked me through the whole process! when I almost passed our after the first ear, she let me wait until I felt better before doing the second year. I can see myself going back in the future for another piercing, I couldn't recommend this experience enough! read more

I had such an incredible experience. ALL the staff was welcoming. My piercer - Brooke - is such a gem, she was patient with me and took the time to help me pick out my jewelry of choice and the process. I have a bodily tic where I flinch if I have to stay still but she was so understanding about it and we had the greatest brief conversation. The jewelry is a little pricey but so beautiful - I bought 2 sets of brand new earrings. I could not recommend this place more! read more

I decided to get a couple piercings done spontaneously one Saturday morning and found myself at Studs Upper East Side. I was immediately welcomed by everyone working there. I arrived slightly earlier than my appointment time and Liv, who was my piercer, asked me if I wanted to get started a few minutes ahead of schedule, which I truly appreciated. She asked me what I wanted to get done and proceeded to guide me to which jewelry options would best suit my needs. As soon as I picked out what I wanted, she went to set up as I filled out the consent form. From the minute I sat down, Liv made the entire experience easy. She did some breathing exercises with me, walked me through each step of the piercing, and answers all of my questions. Needless to say, I highly recommend this shop and Live, and I will absolutely be coming back to Studs in the future for more! read more

Super easy to book appointments. The place was clean. Staff was nice and professional and explained everything in detail. And prices were reasonable too. I planned on getting 2 piercings but for the first one, the jewelry wasn't long enough so it did not pierce all the way through and caused a lot of bleeding. I got a piercings in my upper earlobes a few days ago and it was a great experience. I haven't gotten my ears pierced in a while, but I don't remember the healing process being this easy before. The piercing locations haven't been red, painful, or even itchy. I'm definitely sold on using needles instead of piercing guns. Also, the experience was easy and the earring selection is great. It's a little small, but has a great selection of jewelry for both piercing and buying later on. I had the best afternoon appointment at Studs last week! I arrived for my appointment a little over twenty minutes early (thank you, anxiety!) and wanted a recommendation for a good spot to grab coffee in the neighborhood to kill some time. The two sweet employees recommended getting a mochaccino from next door and let me tell you it was incredible. I came back, filled out my waiver, and met my piercer! I wish I could remember her name, because she was so chill, helpful, and kind. I got a second lobe piercing in each ear (slowly working my way up my ears) and it was quick and relatively painless. She gave me a rundown of aftercare instructions, and I also received a text later that day to remind me of aftercare. Overall it was a comfortable, quick, and friendly experience top to bottom, and I cannot wait until my ears heal and I can come back for another appointment! In the mean time I'm going to be eyeing some of their fashion jewelry to swap out once I've healed. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I got pierced here a while ago and the lady who pierced me put way too long a post. Fast forward to months later when I finally was able to make it back (I work a busy job and drove 1.5 hours and have 3 kids at home) and they refused to take me for my downsizing appointments. Extremely rude managers and bad piercers. Only came back because I couldn't find a place to downsize since they didn't do the piercing. Would not recommend. read more

I got my first cartilage piercings this past weekend at the UES Studs location. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by the kindest staff, who were all happy to answer my questions and made me feel really welcome while I waited my turn (I arrived early and they checked me right in, and got my piercing done before my appointment time). My piercer Amy was very professional and did a beautiful job with my conch and helix piercings. She talked the placements through with me and positioned them perfectly for my ear's anatomy.
