She offered to set me up with a make up artist who I ended up booking. She came to the studio and did my make up before the shoot, so I didn't have to go anywhere else. She did a great job enhancing my features instead of making me look "made-up" which I wanted to avoid. Sherry showed me some books of previous clients (with their permission of course!) so I was able to give her an idea of my preferences. Her work was beautiful and her books were very professionally put together, so I knew then my man was in for a real treat!! She showed me several options for backgrounds, setups and accessories that she had, coordinating them with the ensembles I had brought to wear. I felt very comfortable the whole time and she gave me wonderful tips so I really looked my best. She adjusted the shoot according to my wishes and really took the time needed to make sure we got amazing results. Sherry had to do a photo shoot in France just before his birthday, but she made sure that the editing was done in time to send it to the lab for printing before she left. So I had the book a week ahead of my deadline, and I was absolutely thrilled with it. She also gave me the option of including some personal messages (or if you wanted a poem, song lyrics, etc.) so it really felt personal. As for how he liked it, can't get into details. I will say that my birthday was just ten days later and I can no longer call him my boyfriend. Now I'm super busy planning our wedding and my number one priority in picking a date was making sure Sherry was available to photograph it!!!

On a personal note, Aaron Snow is one of the most creative and authentic people I have ever met. It's clear that he loves his job and the people he meets as a result. He is fun and spontaneous with a great artistic eye. When he had a problem, he pulled me aside and we took care of it with no one else the wiser (especially the bride). He would come up to us with a photo idea, we would run off, snap them and get back to the party quickly. The photo's have all been high quality, even in tough lights. We used a family friend for the rehearsal dinner and she didn't come close to Aaron. He worked with us to build a package we wanted. When my new wife wanted to see the photo's ASAP he even grabbed some teasers to calm her. Aaron is great and worth every penny.

What a professional and talented photographer…read more My fiancé and I were so thrilled with the results from our 2-hour photoshoot with BYP. Bethany knew how to make us feel comfortable and tell us where to go and what to do. We weren't left to just do "whatever". She art directed and shot with professionalism and a true eye for the shot. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed in our wedding photography…read more My Bridal portraits were okay, but I felt like I was rushed the entire session. However, when I got my disk of photos, they were all relatively good. There were several pictures that I was interested in from my Bridal Session, which I did not get. I ask for a disk of all of the photos, and offered to pay for it, and she told me she didn't have them. Just the ones she sent me. On our wedding day, from the minute that we arrived at our venue, she acted confused on what she was supposed to be doing. I had to ask on multiple occasions throughout the day where she was and at one point had to yell for her to get her attention. She was in and out of our wedding as quickly as she could be. We cut our reception an hour and a half short, and I paid for the extra time, which she didn't offer to refund or give a portion back. She is a highly talented photographer in many other avenues, but wedding's are definitely not her strong suit. Not once was I asked what photos were important to me, and I got 1 shot of our wedding party all together, and 1 shot of myself and my bridesmaids together. I didn't get one picture with my flower girl, my ring bearers, no family pictures of my husband and his Dad and sister, not one of my family and myself. Total we spent close to $2K and I would have preferred to spend a little more, or less, and get a total different experience. The most disappointing thing about this experience, was she was recommended by several professionals and mutual colleagues, which made me more apt to trust her ability. I went through all of her pictures online before selecting her and thought I made a good choice. I was wrong. Now all I have left from my wedding day are memories and 200 pictures, which only 3 of them were of my husband and I after our ceremony. I cried when I got our disk.

FLASHBACK: Younger, more cynical JULIE rolls eyes and yawns watching an acquaintance's wedding video. I've never even thought I would want to have a wedding video done, because I dislike them so. (CUE MOURNFUL FIDDLE) Which is sad, because I think these recorded memories are the best gift you can give yourself, the best gift you can give your kids, and their kids.
