The favoritism is flagrant and pervasive; if you are not in competition or the child of a staff member, you will be blatantly ignored. Additionally, the atmosphere was openly hostile. I was bullied by both adults and other children there because I was not as proficient as the competition girls. The instructors were openly cruel to both me and others who did not fit their image, and my peers were often worse. I spent over a decade at AADBK, and I left feeling burned out, insecure, and devalued. My love for dance suffered immensely because the environment was toxic, not inspiring. Lori Messner at the front desk is the only one employed there who is worth any of your time. Kristen is a greedy woman who encourages this environment and should not be allowed to work with children. Your money will be better spent literally anywhere else, and you won't spend half as much as this place charges.

From the environment to the team to the events, they pour passion into what they do. Tutu School is a clean, beautiful boutique environment that is a dream. A half wall with a latch gate separates the dance space from the comfortable area with ample seating surrounding. In the dance space, pink and purple dots are on the floor as place markers. A corner shelf holds all the dance props that vary each class. The team is so sweet. My daughter's permanent class is with Teacher Jasmine, who has welcomed us from the start. Unlimited twirling introduced us to Teacher Sara, Teacher Annaliese and Teacher Savannah- who are all amazing! Each of the teachers follows the same general format, but each offers their own unique touch. Bravo Bash is Tutu School's recital and it is the absolute cutest thing. It is the perfect stress free introduction to recital. The rehearsals are during class time and the teachers are on stage during the performance. They also keep the performance as a whole short and sweet, so the little ones thrive through and through. After my shy daughter's first performance, she was confidently beaming with pride. She talked about it for months and it was and continues to be the most heart warming conversations. On Tutu Days, my daughter wakes up, changes and comes out of her room dressed and ready requesting a ballerina bun. Every day with the same excitement, ballet days are the best!
