I tried several salons when I moved to Columbus and after leaving one place in tears, I thought I might never find a place I liked. I tried Studio Fovero out of convenience (within walking distance of my house) and immediately regretted not going there first. The salon itself is very nice, everyone is friendly, and they take care of you, like a spa. Katie was my hairstylist and I trusted her to do her thing and always make my hair look fantastic. I always looked forward to my haircuts because I knew I'd look and feel great and that I'd have a fun time while there! (I'm speaking in past tense because I have since moved away...and am considering coming back to Cbus just for a haircut with Katie). I also had a few mani/pedis there over the years, all of which were fabulous. The polish always lasted longer than expected and each of the nail technicians did a careful and detailed job. Personally I think the prices are reasonable, but I should disclose that I am from the East Coast so everything in Ohio seemed reasonable to me. I love this salon!! I started coming here over 4 years ago and I see Ciarra Abernethy for my hair. To start with, she's really fun and entertaining-- when you get your hair colored and cut you spend 2-3 hours in the chair and it's great to spend that time with someone who is fun and interesting to talk to. In fact all the people at the studio are so welcoming and fun! And the even better part is how talented Ciarra is -- we always spend time talking about what I want to accomplish with that appointment whether it a cut or a color and she always nails it. Getting hair color right is really and art and a science. Knowing how to put the colors on your hair in the right spots that both look natural and highlight your best features takes vision and making sure that it processes for the right time so as not to get brassy etc... takes a talent. So I have been going to Diana for YEARS now, and I just have to say, she really is the best stylist / colorist / everything that you can be! Several girlfriends recommended Lizzie at Studio Fovero for waxing services. While I am very content with my barber for haircuts, I had not found a satisfactory esthetician in Columbus. I just finished my first appointment with Lizzie and can guarantee there will be many more. She did absolutely perfect work fixing my eyebrows and magically evened them out, even with a childhood scar to contend with. If you want a clean and masculine brow, see Lizzie! I've been going to Katie every 4-6 weeks for almost a year and she is absolutely fantastic! THE best. Very attentive, professional and an all around awesome person, all at the same time! Maintaining long, thick locks like mine is tedious and I was extremely selective when choosing someone to trust. (My hair is serious business.) Katie is the color queen; perfectly blended ombré is no easy task! I constantly receive compliments. Before coming to her, my last stylist (from a larger, more expensive salon) had never once taken the time to even show me my options for color and toner or explain the coloring process and theory behind it, let alone change the cape so as not to compromise the technique. I am nearly 50 and decided to shake things up and try something new, so worked up my courage to try a Brazilian and went to see Lizzy - it was great! She made me feel so comfortable, working quickly and explaining what she was doing at every step. Two thumbs up. Way up. Rhonda gets high marks for taking the horrifying mess that was my hair and making it fabulous. I have stick straight, flat to my head, baby fine hair atop a ridiculously giant blockhead...think seaweed on a rock. Unless the stylist really knows what s/he is doing, it's nearly impossible to cut my hair so it doesn't look like I just escaped from the state hospital. Rhonda fills the bill. She listened to me, asked lots of questions, and then I gave her free reign do whatever she thought would look good. She struck the perfect balance between messy and professional and I couldn't be more pleased. After 3 years of searching for a new stylist, I finally found my chick. I have to drive 2 hours to get to her, and I'll gladly make the trip. Rhonda is more than worth it. read more

Returned to this salon after living out of town for 12 years. The nicest staff ever! Services I've gotten include haircut, color, brow wax and color, and Brazilians. Happy with all, but my Brazilians aren't as "complete" as I had in NYC. No big deal b/c I really like the person who does them, and the difference to NYC is minimal (something I can take care of myself). I went to this salon for 3 years for color and waxing services and I would keep going there except I moved out of state. After making a decision to go blonde, I tried a couple different salons and it turned out okay but wasn't the blonde I dreamed of. I called Studio Fovero and asked who was their best blonde colorist and enter Maria - she took the time to listen to my hair history and listen to what I wanted, the first time it still came out slightly brassy, but she corrected it free of charge. She put me at ease about getting my hair done and three years later, even with the bleach and coloring, my hair is longer shinier and healthier. She knew what products and treatments to recommend for my hair and was such a pleasure to to visit with every time. Jess is an amazing beautician - she shaped my eyebrows beautifully and actually made getting a brazilian wax fun! She was thorough, painless and quick. I can only hope to find a salon that gives the same high quality treatment at such an affordable price. read more

UPDATE: Just washed my hair for the first time after the relaxing and it looks terrible:( I didn't realize what an awful job she had done at the salon because she blow dried it at that time but there are sections of my hair that aren't even straightened (these were the sections that the assistant applied so I guess she botched it or my guess is it wasn't left on long enough) I'm so frustrated and disappointed. Complete waste of my money and time. If you want to relax hair definitely look elsewhere.I don't think they have any stylists with proper experience doing relaxing. The texture is better after washing though. REVIEW ON RELAXING SERVICE: I was recently on the lookout for a salon to relax my hair (traditional relaxer not Japanese or keratin straightening) because I could no longer go to my regular stylist. I was really nervous about going to a new salon in case they messed it up. I went into studio Fovero for a consultation and talked to Maria. After doing a strand test (which was successful) and because the salon had good reviews and she seemed confident and said they had many clients who did relaxing, I happily set up an appointment for two weeks later. So I come in on the day and after applying the relaxer to half my hair Maria tells me that "she's so sorry but that they ran out of relaxer and didn't realize there wasn't another tub" Needless to say I was upset and mad but with half the relaxer already applied there was nothing I could do. I had to come in two days later for her to do the rest of my hair. She said she remembered which section was left to do but there's no way there wasn't some overlap of the relaxer or that some strands were missed. In the end she gave me a $40 discount which was really just insulting because I live in Worthington and don't have a car so to uber there and back a second time alone cost me over $40. Besides this whole mess, on the first day when applying the relaxer I don't think she realized how long it takes to relax because a quarter way through she asked the assistant (not a stylist) to help apply it and it was obvious that the assistant had never done this before and was applying the relaxer in chunks rather than thin sections. Regarding the relaxer product they use (I think its Mizani) its not too bad but my hair does feel more coarse and rough instead of soft silky and smooth (which is how it is when I've relaxed in the past) although it might be better after the first wash. I also got a haircut from Maria which was fine. It didn't look exactly like what I wanted but it wasn't bad either. So in a nutshell, my excitement at getting my hair done was replaced with disappointment that a supposedly great salon was so unprofessional and didn't bother to check if they had enough product despite making my appointment well in advance and also that the discount they offered in no way compensated for the inconvenience caused. P.S. I will update the review after a a week or so regarding any changes to the texture of my hair and to see if there's any increased hair loss (so far I haven't noticed any). read more

Studio Fovero is one of the one worst salons I have ever been to. I had an appointment to have my eyebrows waxed at 1:45- I got there right on time and was told to wait and the aesthetician would be right with me. A half hour of waiting I asked when I would be helped. The haughty receptionist looked annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with a stylist and said it will be a minute. I wait 15 minutes and nothing. The receptionist never once checked on me. At that point I went back up to her and she have the excuse that a client had arrived late, thus all the following appointments were late. I should have been informed of that to begin with- not 45 minutes later. There were no apologies or any attempts to remedy the situation, just an offer to reschedule. I will never be going back. I don't expect the salon to be empty at all times, but if I am waiting 45 minutes then I should be treated with more respect instead of being ignored by a pretentious receptionist. read more
