Fred is Undo's sensei that will help you sculpt your beach body, and lift your spirit. Don't be shy, this place is for all levels. When I started here, I was out of shape and single. Now, people mistaken me for Captain America and my ex-wife wants to get back together. This gym/studio works by appointment. There's private appointments or group classes. Ballers may be interested in private sessions, but I love the groups classes - there's nothing like breaking a good sweat with the rest of the amazing Avengers. In addition, the group classes are max 6 people, so it's still a pretty small, which allows you to have professional feedback along the workout.

I started out with private lessons for a long time, because I was simply intimidated. But Fred's natural charisma and encouragement put me at ease immediately. I progressed and looked forward to going to the studio as often as I could. As a California transplant, I was not prepared for the cold winters and I could not get outside to run as I normally could. So I hunkered down for the winter and did what Fred told me to do. And it was always fun. I mean sometimes it sucked, but in a good way. Fred is always aware of where I am in terms of ability and knows when to push, when to encourage and when to make adjustments. He Then spring rolled around and I ran my maybe 40th half marathon. After not running on my own. I beat my personal time by more than 7 minutes. It was pretty fantastic.

Éconofitness - After many months, we still have leaky ceilings...

Econofitness is a no-frills gym for the basic membership but it has all I need in a gym. There is an option to get the membership that includes the fitness classes but the difference in price ($5.99 every 2 weeks vs $11.99 every 2 week) was too much for me. I am satisfied with the regular gym membership so far. The gym is rarely very busy so there aren't wait times to use machines. The changing rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff are borderline rude and are not very helpful. Because of the low price, I'm willing to look past this for now. Also, due to renovations, there are some leaks in the ceiling so water has been dripping into bins for the last few weeks. They should probably take care of this. One major complaint that I've heard from a lot of women is in regards to the cameras that are placed around the gym. This gym is for women only, which means that it may attract women who are not comfortable working out in areas where men are present. This can be due to religious reasons or not. Some women who normally feel comfortable working out are uncomfortable with the fact that there are cameras. This is something to consider before joining if this would be a problem for you. If you get the full membership (11.99 every 2 weeks), you have access to a pressure therapy bed, a massage chair, a meditation room, a tanning bed (cancer risk, don't do this!!!), free showers and access to the fitness classes with an instructor. The basic membership, which is what I chose, just includes the gym and fitness classes with a virtual instructor (prerecorded). The charge a lot for showers 1$/3 minutes so it is not worth it to me. Overall, I am satisfied with the changes from Énergie Cardio to Éconofitness. It is a budget gym that does the trick for my student budget. 3.5*

So…read morefar the staff, unlike most reviews, as been really kind and professional to me and most machines were not even taken during peak hours (4-5pm where people usually finish work). Big changing room and roomy gym. The ceilings are high which let it breathes. And no Econofitness ever had cleaning wipes so I'm not quite sure why people complain although this is an issue that should be addressed in all gyms for sanitary reasons, of course. The least we can do is bring our towel which is in my opinion better than nothing. I actually went from the basic one gym only access to this gym (upgraded my subscription) so I could have my gym closer to me and I regret nothing.

Once you sign the contract, that turns out to be a lie. I called to postpone my class, and when I asked for an appointment the next week, they told me my membership had ended--no more classes. OTF Somerled has literally changed my life!…read more Since the pandemic, I had really let myself go. I was depressed, unmotivated, had zero drive and absolutely no desire to get out of bed to do much of anything. That went on for 3 years!!! I was dreading exposing myself to the world of fitness in the state I was in but knew I needed to get my active life back on track. I have been to so many different fitness centres (the Y, Energy Cardio, Fitness One, MAAA, Nautilus +) and had done countless bootcamp sessions and CrossFit, none of which even compare to what I was about to experience with OTF. Getting back into shape, meant that I would be disappointed with how much my body had changed over the years. I knew I'd need more than just a physical workout. I'd need support, encouragement, advice, structure, and positive reinforcements. Then my sister introduced me to Orange Theory. She said it was exactly what I needed to get my groove back. BOY WAS SHE RIGHT!!! Not only are you encouraged to go at your own pace, but you're also made aware of your progress and the work you are putting in during and after your workouts. It keeps you motivated and on track. The only commitment you are making is to yourself. OTF has a pay per month plan, meaning there are no annual contracts locking you in, and adding unnecessary pressure. So you don't have to worry about biting off more than you can chew. Which helps you set smaller and more reachable goal. If you sign up for a minimum of 3 sessions a week, you also get a FREE heart monitor, tracking your every move, heart beat, and calorie burned. And if you thought that was good, I've got more news. OTF is WORLD WIDE, with multiple fitness centres in every major city. They also have an app compatible with iPhones and Androids, keeping you up-to-date on stats, allowing you to book your sessions directly from your home, and providing you with workout videos you can do from anywhere at any time. And did I mention the 1st SESSION IS FREE? So, if you're looking to make a positive change in your life, and need that extra push from encouraging coaches and a supportive community, OTF Somerled is for you! I promise you won't be disappointed. You think I'm kidding? Just read the reviews. P.S HiiT is highly addictive. Expect to get hooked!

The price is still very decent coming to about 15$ a month if you're a student at HEC, Poly or UdeM and you buy the 1 year subscription. They added a new multi room where TRX courses are taught and there's a bunch of cross fit equipment. Usually, the room is closed, but at certain times, those who are the gym membership have access to that room and can take advantage of the different equipment. The gym is fairly clean and even thought it says to wipe the machines, people don't seem to do it very often. You have to have a towel to get in. That's super important or they will deny you entry. Usually, it's pretty busy after 4pm on the weekdays. Before that and all day during the weekends, there's not too many people. I think the biggest upside to the CEPSUM gym is the proximity to the schools and the student discount. It's definitely not worth it if you don't live close and you're not a student/employee of one of the aforementioned establishments.

For a university student, everything is paid for except the gym. The fees are quite affordable compare to many gyms and the place is not always busy. I never reserved the machine I want. The complain I have is for the gym, there are too many cardio machines and not enough weight machines to go around. Overall, this place is pretty great for a sport enthusiasm. I would even describe this place as a god send for the sports athletes.
