I was told it was worth $6743 but got a "discount" and got it for $2560. It has been 2 months and 2 of the small diamonds have fallen out out. I went to get it appraised today and the jeweler told me the ring is worth $700-$800 at most and the ruby isn't even real. I can't believe this store is getting away with scamming people like this. I used that to gauge the honesty of their appraisal. They valued it 5 times less than what it is insured for currently, that was the 1st red flag. They won't answer your questions until they are sure you are buying something, 2nd red flag. The salesman said it is best to just ask what is the lowest price they can accept for the piece. So I asked he said $700 then he asked if I had the coupons because I had the VIP card from my ship. I said yes then the price because $294 and he would throw in a necklace. Well I looked online once we were back on the ship and the exact same Saffi Kalima ring was $295 online and with the code they advertised on the site the same necklace was free with purchase, red flag #3. So the starting price online was the same as the "bottom line price" with the 60% off. From the quoted prices of the diamonds I looked at I would be 1000 times better off going into a reputable store in the USA. Jared, Tiffany & Co. even Zales had better prices with more transparency. If they will not tell you the price of something walk away. If you tell them exactly what you want and the price is more than any of place you have looked walk away. Same thing with the bamboo sheets store I already own sheets, duvet covers, and other items. I went in the store asked the price of the robe it was $130 and I can get a better one that I know is exactly what it claims to be for $80 plus 20% off with free shipping from the store I normally buy from. Even the vendors selling serape blanket want 39.99 usd for the blanket and it cost less from Amazon. The whole shopping center is a tourist trap. Just go enjoy the ship while others are wasting their time. Just in case you had any doubts the papers they folded and put in the pretty envelope did not include the GIA certificate, red flag #4.

As we casually walked past the many nice stores within, Joe K went over to a phone repair store while I checked out La Perla Tapatia. I was immediately swarmed by one of the sales people at the store. Even though I was only showing minor interest in some of the wall hanging displays, he wouldn't leave me alone long enough to make a decision as to whether I really wanted to make a purchase or not. When I asked how much the displays were, I felt they were too pricey and tried to move on. But then he decreased the price from $60.00 to $50.00. I really didn't think it was a bargain, but he proceeded to remove the decoration from high up on the wall so I could get a closer look. I kind of liked it's color scheme and appearance and after additional pressure from the sales guy, I gave in to the price of $50.00. Since I didn't have enough cash, I ended up having to use my charge card. As I walked out of the store to join my boyfriend, we proceeded to explore more stores only to have the same salesman running frantically towards us stating that he made a mistake and under charged me! It appeared he was being directed by this stern looking woman who was probably the manager of the store. We looked at my receipt and found no errors. It clearly said 1000 pesos which equaled to the $50.00 we agreed upon. But he kept trying to say that it said 100 pesos not 1000! He tried to take my receipt away, but Joe protected me and said that maybe he should call the police! That's when we decided that this mall was history and we took the nearest exit, only to have the guy follow us outside, wanting to look at the receipt once again. We actually had to count the number of zeros out to him. It hadn't changed. It still showed 1000 pesos, NOT 100 pesos! I don't know if he had poor eyesight or what, but we started to feel unsafe and quickly headed to the nearest bus stop to go far away from that mall! As soon as I got back to my hotel, I called my bank to complain and explain what had happened, just in case they tried to make changes to my charge. The bank representative was very helpful and made me feel at ease as they would closely monitor my charge card. I only wish that we didn't have to run out of there so fast, or I would have taken a photo of the front of that store! I really had a case of buyers remorse on that day!!!

The silver is questionable. Do not attempt to buy nice jewelry in Mexico, better off with the cheap rings and bracelets. We are now going through the dispute process, not fun.
