I love this place, but you have to go in knowing that it is a old school decades-old thrift store…read more like an actual thrift store, filled with clothes, shoes, even socks, hat, gloves, accessories, toys, books, small electronics, & More, so is not the most updated it's not the cleanest because there's so many items that change daily & it's pretty massive, so you can spend hours there-Like I do, but I like to dig & hunt for treasures! The Thrifting world has changed a lot because of so many people are resellers now & stores like village discount outlet know that so you will see much higher prices on brand names or more highly sought pieces. The real gems are in the aisles, but you need to take your time & you can still find high-quality pieces that are on trend and/or vintage items that are of excellent quality, but what great is there are still basics & people who shop here for baby & kids clothes who need to be on a budget or don't want to spend too much money on clothes & more they may not wear for long. I literally just started writing reviews because I do like to gate keep my favorite stores, but if they don't have enough business, then they can't stay in business. They've updated their checkout systems with nice state of the Art POS systems & surprisingly have a VIP member club that allows you to earn points & I've spent so much I've gotten discounts, so you really can't complain when you're shopping and getting such great deals if you can be patient, know how to look dig and find what you want and need!

I'd say it's hard to find a deal here, HUGE inventory though and you might find something unique…read morethough I did not

Compared to Goodwill they're buying clothes based on trends with no stains or signs of wear so this may lower your chances of what you sell. Crossroads Trading is very clean and well organized with around 10 fitting rooms so there is no bottleneck waiting in line to try on clothes. I appreciate Crossroads Trading organizes its clothes by size as other second-hand stores like Second Street do not. I have found some really great finds here - a Loft Faux Leather jacket for $40 (originally $180) and Lululemon leggings for $20. Because this location is located in Lincoln Park there is always a line to sell clothes. My dream is that they hire more cashiers to help get more patrons selling clothes through the line faster. I waited 45 minutes mid-day on a Tuesday to sell clothes. I do admire that they have a digital sign-in system to contact you when it is your turn to sell, and a rack to put your clothes on while you wait because then you can bop around Lincoln Park doing other errands.

Turns out two of us can be condescending. this is the one store in this entire city I have yet to buy from because everything in here is overpriced, not vintage, and tacky. And I guess now I know why. Do yourself a favor, don't shop here and don't sell your clothes. Please escort yourself to 2nd Street where you are treated with the respect you deserve. And before you respond with "we only buy things that are trending" sweetie if it's trending it's already out of fashion. I don't care if you don't buy my clothes but insult and treat me like that again you'll be hearing from me. This isn't high school and you're not Miranda priestly.
