Sherry, aka the baby whisperer, is incredible! She not only delivered us a beautiful gallery of images of our precious baby girl, but she also provided a memorable experience during the whole shoot. Sherry makes the environment around the baby so calming and peaceful, she had a heating pad, white noise machine and a little soothing movement machine close by that gave a soft vibrate to the set where she was photographing. I'm like, hi can you come home with us and teach us all of your tricks lol she was awesome! The way she patiently dressed and arranged our daughter was so caring and calm, my husband and I felt totally at ease having her pose and photograph our girl. She was extremely patient and never frustrated after perfectly arranging our baby and then she'd do a baby stretch and mess up her pose and Sherry would very calmly start over and perfectly arrange her again. She also was never rushed, and half way through our shoot I needed to feed my daughter and Sherry insisted we take our time and she sat and chatted with us just like a friend. Lastly, you can tell Sherry really loves what she does because she enjoys being creative and customizing shoots based on your family, and baby. She had a super cute beach setup for us that we didn't even ask for but it went so perfectly with our daughters name and our style:') Her creativity shines and shows through her work with her unique sets, props, and outfits that she curates per client/baby. We came here for our newborn pictures and from the moment we met Sherry, my wife and I knew we were in the right place. We've done plenty of photo shoots in the past few years between getting married and 2 kids, this was hands down the best experience. Pros: She's so professional and personable at the same time. Made us feel really comfortable and really took her time with getting the baby ready, taking breaks and not rushing in order for my wife to feed the baby in order for the baby to sleep.Sherry was also unbelievable with our 3 year old by engaging and entertaining her. We were able to get some great poses and smiles. Even before and after the photos, she made sure our 3 year old wasn't bored. Cons: None at all, other than having to drive to Ramona but hey, it gave us a chance to see parts of San Diego outside the norm. Overall: Safe to say that we're only using Sherry for all future photo shoots. We received our pictures quickly and we're in love with them. After searching online for the perfect cake smash photographer - I am SO HAPPY we went with Studio 120! Sherry is truly the best. She holds herself as a true professional in every way and is extremely personable. If you're looking for a cake smash photographer, look no further. She has the cutest props, clothes and can help bring your vision to life. COMMUNICATION (PRE-PHOTO OP). - I found Sherry on Instagram and contacted her through her website. She responded the same day (so awesome)! - She asked me when I needed the photos by and we confirmed the date (We actually had to move the date a few times since we're expecting, and Sherry was completely flexible/communicated every time I reached out to her). - She then sends a Planning Questionnaire for you to fill out, to help her plan the session theme (it's on her website as well). PHOTO OPP EXPERIENCE. - You can choose to either have the shoot in your home (in SD) or at her in home studio in Ramona. We opted for her to come to us since we were expecting and pretty far along in our pregnancy. - If you opt for her to come to you, she'll need 7x7 non-carpeted space to set up her area.. and she brings it all! She brought the background, lighting, props/decor and cake. It was so nice and just made everything so much easier! .. and the clothes? Oh my, they're SUPER cute! You can bring your own items of course, but this is just to help give you an idea of what she provides. .. and she sets everything up relatively quick (30 mins) - She then invests about an hour prior to the session to capture some clean images before the fun begins. I loved this idea/concept because it allowed my son to relax and be a bit more comfortable. If your little one is crawling, be prepared for a work out! :) PRICE. - I reached out to Sherry late 2016 so was able to lock in the 2017 rate early on ($375). I believe this might've gone up since.. - The session fee is due the time of the session or before. She accepts almost anything (cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, or credit card). WHAT YOU GET. - "One hour" photo session (since she invests an hour with your little one prior to the session - I felt like it was more of a 2-3 hour session; which is great!). - 40 digitally enhanced photos. - Digital download of files. AFTER THE SHOOT. - She can select 40 images to touch up for you OR you can request to see the proofs and select 40 yourself. We opted to see proofs and I am so glad I did.. it was so hard not to fall in love with them all! The turn around time to review the proofs was less than 24 hours! So amazing! After I selected my favorites, I sent Sherry a note and received the final files 72 hours later. I feel like this turn around time is unheard of these days and not so common - so I was really happy! You can print your photos at a lab of your choice, or ask her about her professional a la carte printing options as well.. We did newborn (and family) portraits when my daughter was 6 days old and they are some of my most favorite photos I have ever received! She is incredibly patient (we took a few nursing breaks throughout the session), meticulously detailed and has such a creative and fun eye for photos. You are not only getting her amazing talent as a photographer but her repertoire of hand selected props and outfits. This was HUGE for me as I was freshly postpartum and didn't have the time/energy/patience to individually order props and outfits for the shoot. The process was incredibly easy and tailored to me and my family. Once booked, we filled out a form where we could make special requests and provide the color scheme of our choice. She also has a library of poses to select from (if you need some direction, as I did!). We brought our 3.5 year old son with us too and she was truly incredible with him! She made him feel so special and was able to pull so many amazing poses and photos of the two of them that my family will cherish forever. We also had the pleasure of doing one of her mini shoots (modeled after the book, Love You Forever). My husband and I still talk about how she was able to pull the most fun and playful poses out of that session! My son started out a bit shy but Sherry was able to get him playing and he ended up having a great time! And now I have extremely wonderful photos of him to cherish forever! This is a review for: the Newborn session, Halloween session, Christmas session, and Cake Smash session. Newborn session: Sherry came to our home to take his newborn photos. She set up in our family room and brought everything under the sun for the shoot. She brought a heating pad to make sure our baby was warm and comfortable. She was very gentle and patient throughout the photo shoot. Halloween and Christmas session: Sherry offers holiday mini sessions, where you get 5 photos for $100. I love this because we got amazing and professional photos for a great price during different times of the year. Cake Smash: We went up to her studio in Ramona for this session. We got the package that comes with portrait shots as well. This means we could have multiple outfit changes and 2 backdrops. Sherry worked with me on the theme and it was perfect! We went with a jungle theme and she made a beautiful balloon arch. She also provided props, outfits, AND the cake! Before she began shooting, she let our baby play with some of her toys to warm him up. She played and interacted with him to make him more comfortable. Our baby has separation anxiety from us right now and had a difficult time sitting without us during the first part of the shoot. Again, Sherry is super patient and has tricks to make babies/kids comfortable while shooting. He also didn't know to eat the cake so she had a couple tricks to get him to try it. After his smash, she provided him a warm bath to wash off the frosting and cake. Sherry is hands down the BEST. I can't say it enough- Sherry is super patient! She is very warm and kind. By far this is the BEST experience we have had with a photographer hands down. Sherry knows exactly what to expect, and works so hard to earn baby's / child's trust.
