OK, so I had to move all the furniture out from the ground floor of the house and then was asked to leave my house a day and a half early.....yes thats right EARLY, because we hired a professional who turned up on time, was incredibly focused whilst at work and very knowledgeable when it came to mixing the right custom color. When he announced he was ahead of schedule, what can you do but smile and accommodate. Jeremiah installed new wood floors on our rotunda upstairs landing laying the wood in a clock hand format which required a lot of time and patient cutting. Downstairs he installed new wood in two rooms and refinished floors that were 15 years old that 3 others had told me could only be replaced not refinished. I feel bad about walking on the floor. It's like walking on art. Jeremiah just finished off the last bit of moulding. Now our house looks gorgeous! We had a mix of top-nailed oak, tongue and groove oak, and carpet. The Strong team came in, ripped out the carpet, did clean prep work, then put down new oak floors to match the old. They repaired water damaged areas on the old floors. Finally, they came back, sanded it all down, applying coat after coat of stain, sanding each time. It all matches beautifully. The house looks gorgeous now. Oops, I said that already. Well, it does, so there. What I especially like: 1. On schedule. 2. Professional (on time, cleaned up after themselves, polite, hard-working). 3. The old and new floors match perfectly. 4. The moulding is precise and finished cleanly. 5. Sliding on the floor like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. 6. Reasonably priced for anybody, and fantastically priced for the quality of work. 7. Not dusty at all. 7. I wish I could give Jeremiah Strong SIX stars! He and his team arrived on time each day, worked diligently throughout the day and completely cleaned up after themselves. They moved my heavy furniture out of the way, removed my old flood-damaged floors, ran a high-powered blower fan for two days to dry out the concrete floor beneath and then, after electronically obtaining satisfactory moisture readings, installed beautiful hickory wide-plank replacement floorboards. From start to finish, it took five days to remove the old floor, dry the cement and replace the floors in my family room, kitchen, pantry, hall closet and hallway, moving the furniture back in. I had Jeremiah and team refinish our super old floors that were in terrible shape on a home we had just purchased. We were in crunch time since we were moving in around Christmas. We left for a trip and Jeremiah took care of everything. Good communication throughout and all the work was done on time and complete. My floors are "in progress"......so an "after action" report to follow. I'm taking advantage of a little spare time before moving back into our home. We just completed a parquet floor renovation with Jeremiah and Strong Wood Floors. The work was amazing. He is very honest and encouraged us to save our floor even though he could have made more money off a new one. He found wood that was a close match, repaired all our damage, sanded and stained to blend with our existing floors. The work on the job was clean, finished in his exact timeline, came in cheaper than two others, and he and his guys were very professional. He also did our floor board trim too. He brought us a whole box of sample trim to help give us ideas so we could make it nicer than quarter round. The project is complete and the floors are gorgeous! It looks like I wrote the last review and I have a update on the hardwood floors that Strong wood floors did. I have some floor rugs that I have placed on the hardwood floors. I bought the rubber pads at Home Depot so the rugs would not move. The woven rubber on the back stained the hardwood floor so deep that I had to have Strongwood floors come back and resand the floor and refinish the bedroom. I no longer use the pads under the rugs because of this problem. Next I bought the two sided tape that is used for anchoring the rug to the floor just on the edge of the rug. I just pulled up the rug and this also stained the floor. I only left it on the rug for two months and then checked it. I am no longer using anything under all throw rugs because of this problem. If I had to do it over I would probably have done the oil base even though there is a smell for a time. read more

I had a small job (full bath) that was in need of the wood floor being refinished. I called at least 5 local highly rated wood flooring companies. None returned my calls except for Jeremiah and I'm so glad he did. I get it...it's a small job and some may not think it's worth it (made clear by the lack of returned calls) but I was willing to pay whatever required to get the job done. Jeremiah and Mark were awesome. Polite, fair, timely and did a great job on my bathroom floor. I have a large downstairs wood floor that will eventually need to be completely refinished. I didn't request a bid from out of area contractors because I deal locally, and don't appreciate my information being sold out, poor business practice. read more

I write few reviews since I'm usually disappointed with the performance of most companies. Not So with Strong or his employees! From the quote to the completed job, everything was handled very professionally and Jeremiah made it very easy for us. He typically works in the Tri-Valley area but you would smart to consider him regardless where you are. I'm in Oakland and sent him images of the floor by phone so that he could work up a quote. The cost was competitive but he offered to do more than just refinish (and more than all other companies). He replaced a number of planks and did more than he promised, at the quoted price. The whole crew earned an A+ for keeping things clean, friendliness, letting us know what to expect up front, staying on schedule, arriving on time, completing on schedule and exceeding expectations. The floors look great! As a Project Manager and a Facility Manager, Strong is one of the top 2 or 3 vendors I've used personally and professionally. The Downside: He's very busy! We knocked down a wall to adjoin two rooms and update the kitchen. One room had carpet and the other red oak floors. In the kitchen update the new counter layout meant some parts of the floor had to be patched. Jeremiah was responsive and we were able to work with him on the schedule as our overall project was fairly complex in managing several other contractors. One of Jeremiah's guys, Dave, did most of the work and did a great job, very experienced and a nice guy. They had to add new floors in the room where the carpet, they had to patch areas in the kitchen, and then sand and finish. The other challenge was to match wood colors to other rooms where we were not finishing. The match looks great, the newly finished floor looks like 1 room as opposed to the 2 rooms we had at the beginning. We would recommend that you use Strong Wood. The experience and the outcome was great. Also he priced in the same range as 3 other competitive bids so he is also priced fairly. read more
