Yesterday, I was driving back to Fort Riley, KS from visiting family in California for the holidays. Right before entering the town of Great Bend my engine light started flashing and when I pulled over to see what was going on, my car died on me. Triple A towed me to Walmart where they couldn't do anything for me. So I luckily got my car started and drove to the next nearest auto repair shop where he told me he couldn't work on my car either. I made calls to all the places that said were still open and the last & only place that said they could try to help me was this place, Tournear Racing Performance & Automotive Repair! I'm active duty and needed to report back for duty before the end of the day yesterday. I felt so relieved when I got there and got told that my car would get worked on and ready to go! The entire process was stress free, homey, & knowledgeable! They found the problems the last mechanic had made to my engine to cause a domino affect to my car & went ahead & fixed it all up! They took initiative to look deeper & make sure my car was safe to drive! Honestly, in California people would've taken advantage of a 22 year old female and would have done the half ass minimal work for a high price! I'm grateful & blessed to have came across this place with the two most genuine people I've ever met! Thank you so much for the knowledge and the help towards my car! I appreciate your selfless services!

After some minor paint damage happened to my car, I took it to Dacus for an estimate. They…read moreperformed the estimate and sent it to me, and then I provided it to my insurance company - all good so far. After insurance processed it, we received a check for $500 less than what the claim had been. I called the insurance company to ask why this was, and they said that Dacus had agreed to do the work for the lower price, so with my deductible and the check they had sent I would be good to go. I called Dacus to schedule to work, however they surprised me: They said they didn't care what they had agreed to with the insurance company, they would be charging me the full price on the original estimate, and probably more, and I would just have to eat what insurance didn't cover. Thankfully, I called my insurance and was able that check voided (it was addressed to the body shop), and found another body shop that agreed to do the work at the price that Dacus had agreed to do it for before they tried to make me pay the original estimate price out of pocket. The insurance company had the documentation that Dacus had agreed to do the work for that lower price, email trail and everything, so Dacus apparently thought they would just agree to the lower price and then get some extra money on top out of me. No thanks.

My insurance agent setup a tow trunk and I had her make sure it was one that could not only haul the truck, which was not drivable, but also tow the RV that I was pulling. Tom the tow truck driver was awesome! We were in the middle of nowhere, KS, and he was able to get us all hooked up and towed us back to Dodge City, KS and Bailey's Body Shop. He even setup our RV behind the body shop that will fix the truck, because I didn't know where else to go. He then took us to a gas station to get gas in the generator and gas can so we would not run out during the night while using the AC, as it was over 100 degrees that day. The next day (Monday) we tried to get a rental truck to finish our trip, but we found out that most rental car companies don't rent tow vehicles, making me basically stuck! The owner of Bailey's (Bob Bailey) himself, let us use his personal truck and a friend towed the RV to Wichita (3+ hours away) and we were able to rent a U-Haul truck that allowed us to use our hitch and finally was able to complete our trip to Oklahoma late on Monday night. We thought the repair (estimated at over $10K) would take over 2-months due to part shortages and also logistics. I'm happy to report that just over 3-weeks they had my truck ready, and it looks like new! I would definitely recommend this body shop to anybody!!!

Nothing needed done to the hood; however, it has a white milky film right over the fender they repaired...we can't tell what that is from. The spoiler/ground effects on the left side of the car must have had to be removed to do the fender work and they did not replace the screw in the front holding it on securely. On the rear bumper, they were not able to get the OEM surplus replacement from the dealer they had thought and wanted to put a brand new one on at three times the cost. We told them to leave the rear alone. When we called to check on the progress of the front, they advised they had already "repaired" the rear spoiler (prior to advising about the additional cost and without approval). We told them to just put it back together; we would take care of it ourselves. When we picked the care up, they had put the rear spoiler back together. We did not realize the repair they had done to the spoiler did not include paint. (Who "repairs" without painting?) While the rear spoiler was intact, the repaired portion was only primered! The car was filthy when we picked it up; so we could not see all the defects. Once we washed it and noticed the defects, we contacted them and were told, "You signed off on it." This appeared to be equivalent to the work of a body shop at a vocational school!
