During the session I was assigned one person trained in assisting the stretches. The staff are not trained physical therapists but staff who have trained for a certain number of hours in assisting stretches. They started off doing an assessment of me performing a full squat. I stood in front of a machine with a camera that indicated imbalances in body alignment. That helped the stretch assistant determine what stretches to focus on. We did a series of assisted stretches for my whole body. After only one session it is difficult to determine if this activity will help my body alignment or range of motion. Multiple sessions over several weeks would likely help me see improvement. Unfortunately, the cost of multiple sessions can be cost prohibitive.

All the classes focus on low-impact, small movements that really strengthen and tone. It's this awesome mix of Pilates, yoga and ballet. My go to classes now are: Classic- a full body low impact, high intensity workout with light weights and a ball. Define - focuses more on weight base strength training. Align- great for strength and flexibility Mat Pilates- No weights but surprisingly intense and fun! I always leave feeling stronger! What really keeps me coming back is the vibe, energy, music and the instructors. Honestly it's hard to pick a favorite because they all bring something different. Diana is tough in the best way! I can see and feel the results. Nicole teaches Mat Pilates and somehow makes it fun while your abs and tush are on fire. Hannah, Colleen and April all have great energy and are super thorough with form and motivation. It's more than just a workout studio. It feels like a little community of friends. I wasn't sure what to expect but while the workout kicked my butt and I am already aching all over- I'm glad we joined today's trial class. Last July 2025 I fell down my stairs and broke my left hip, I had to go to the emergency room and a doctor over at Swift Institute was on the Emergency side of it, and replaced my hip with a few screws. Well, the screws were coming out as I walked, so I saw Dr. Winkle back at great basin, and he said you're gonna have to have your hip totally replaced, as the screws are poking out.! I ended up in the hospital a few days after surgery with a stomach problem, and he actually came by to see me, and it had nothing to do with my hip, he just wanted to make sure I was OK! Absolutely incredible Dr, I highly recommend him and any doctor at Great Basin Orthopedics! The best! I needed a nausea medicine, and unbeknownst to Dr. Winkle the medicine he gave me for nausea also helped the stomach problem I was having so I could eat again, no other doctor has ever prescribed that medicine for me and I get these stomach issues a lot, we were really impressed! Thanks Dr Winkel!! I cannot believe how well I am doing, love my new life!!

The coaches are probably the most important part of doing crossfit the right and safe way and the fun way! I'm training only 3 months and the amount of knowledge I acquired is absolutely a gold mine (personal thanks to Joaquin, Jacob and Derek). They listen, guide you, literally making you a better athlete, and on the way you become a better version of yourself; fit, sharp both body and mind. Today I was invited to check it out so I stepped out of my comfort zone and said yes. Of course it was their recovery day/beginner workout but I did it. Kris was so nice, she kindly corrected my form on some movements without making me feel like a total embarrassment. Plus, it's a 2 minute walk from my work so it makes it easy to drop in for a class. I may or may not go again but now I'm glad to say I've been to the most popular CrossFit gym in Reno. I usually stick to running, yoga, swimming, cycling, walking, and lifting. But this is super cool and VERY CLEAN!
