Mike & his wife always showed such great hospitality when we would come there for service he pampered us from the time we entered the salon, he would take care of our parking meters so we wouldn't get tickets . How to mention my nails were amazing and knew exactly the style and shape I wouldn't even have to say nothing just sit in the chair. I can't say anything bad about them now everyone has bad days and yes it takes a lot to get on Mike's bad side. You will know when he is upset with you he'll give you that look and work on your nails fast and get you out of there LOL. Another thing he really doesn't like when your late for your appointments because it throws his time back from the other appointments that are scheduled . Although, this salon is hidden. I've been in the community for a while and seem to always forget about this place. I came here a few days ago after trying a salon in the colonial park mall which did so horrible at adding acrylic to my real nails, it was thick and nasty. However, I can to strawberry salon although, they are short staffed and you have to wait for a period of time it's with it. My nails came out way better then I expected! This lovely little salon is a few steps away from the capitol building and a delightful surprise find. They took care of my stress-induced nail-biting spree, and now my poor nails look presentable again. The interior is a cheerful bright green with a hint of mint, and it is well-ventilated. You can barely smell the standard fumes association with the trade of nail care. And they are reasonably priced and friendly folk. Definitely stop in if you need to relax for a bit. read more

This place was recommended by a friend because my usual nail tech was booked and I'm in a play set in the civil war that requires that I cut my nails down for the part. I went for a french manicure; I have really thin nails and didn't want fakes, but one of my nails had broken and so I asked for an extension on just that one. It mostly looked natural enough, however the woman buffed off too much of my natural nail bed before putting on the extension. I wasn't told that I should come back to have it removed, so I just let it eventually pop off after a week or so. It took months for that nail to be "normal", since she'd buffed so much my natural remaining nail was even more thin and flexible than usual. For that reason alone I'd personally never go there for anything that involves that motorized buffer. The nail tech though did do a much better job than Szuzanna's for applying the white tips evenly and with precision lines. I just wish the paint would have lasted more than a day before it started chipping at the corners on my natural nails. The nail extension stayed perfect until it started to come loose around the edges and so I removed it. read more

Best nail salon I've ever been to!!!! I go there every time I need a fill they get it done quick but they make sure it's done right! Beautiful colors and new polishes every month, plus the hand massage afterwards followed by a hot towel over the hands.. SO RELAXING‼ I came in there today for a fill (as usual) not sure of what color I wanted and they showed me new colors (the images are one of the new polishes they have) and my nails are flawless and only $30!!!! I wish this place was a hidden gem but it wasn't. I do want to say the gentleman who was running things seemed as if he knew what he was doing as he illustrated professional behavior. As soon as I walked in he provided me with a water bottle and then turned on my massage chair. He was treating me like he was the one doing my nails. The lady who ended up doing my nails and feet just did not do a good job and having to ask her to fix it multiple times to the point where if I asked any more I'd be annoyed with myself. At the end, I wasn't happy at all with the job. So what I did was tip $5 instead of writing a bad review. But this changed quickly...the way the lady and the other women in the room behaved after was not professional. once they saw what I put down they began to mock and talk trash in my face in Vietnamese . I came if for a pedicure and everything was great until I was about to leave. I paid and even gave the guy $5 tip for a basic pedicure. As I was putting on my shoes I noticed a mistake on my big toe. When I went to tell him he wouldn't stop playing his video game. I asked if he could fix it and he wouldn't put down the game. Then he got a top coat out brushed it on my toe while still playing his game. I couldn't believe it. I've never seen anything so un professional. read more

I went for a last minute gel manicure and am so so happy with it. I'm usually hesitant about gel manicures because I'm fussy and even a small imperfection that I'm stuck with for two/three weeks will make me nuts. Lo and behold, it's perfect!! Not a huge selection of gel colors, but enough to get something close to what you want. There is a huge selection of regular non-gel colors. Given the location, I'd definitely make an appointment for the lunch hour or right after work hours, but it was dead quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend. read more

Went today for a pedicure because it was close my office. Didn't notice that my old polish was not completely removed before putting on the new. I went over lunch to get a mani/pedi. My pedicure consisted of my nails being filed and cuticles being cut . Salt being poured in the water and a quick lotion before painting . No attention was taken to the bottom of my feet, not even a scrub. Before she lotioned I asked if she was going to do the bottom of my feet (thought maybe she forgot .. we all have our days) She said no, that is a "special" pedicure not a "regular" pedicure. I've never had a pedicure without my feet being scrubbed ... even if just with a pumice stone but fine . So I asked "okay, then can I get a "special" pedicure?" She told me no that it was too late and showed me the price list of the different types of pedicures . There was no one else in the salon except the two other workers who didn't have clients and were watching soap operas on the TV. She then started to give me tips on how I can soak my feet at home . Safe to say I won't be returning which is sad because it's very convenient during my lunch break. read more

I wanted to like this salon but...they essentially charged $20 for nail polish application, not a manicure, no cut, only file. In addition to being ridiculously expensive for something I could've done myself, the manicure was messy and chipped in less than 24 hrs (regular nail polish). Went there for a last minute manicure and pedicure and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They even stayed opened for a half an hour after their closing time. The price for a mani and pedi combo is $40 which is about average for nail salons. The salon is clean and the décor is cute. They also have a number of different nail designs to choose from if you want something different. I'll definitely recommend their services for anyone who is visiting the area. read more

I have been trying for over an hour to call. Nobody answered the phone. The website states that they open at 9:30am. I even put in a "request" for an appointment. No response. Finally, well over an hour, they answer the phone but I was told that they do not know when I could get an appointment because there is only one person there (sounding to me like she didn't want to answer the phone and didn't want to give me two seconds of time). She said there is someone else coming in today but he is not there and she doesn't know when he is coming in today. A simple nail repair that takes about 2 minutes was too much to ask. I guess they do not need my business! Just an FYI, last time I was there, the gel and base coat they used ate through my nails. When I showed them my nails, they laughed and said it happens, don't worry. I didn't want my nails to disappear and couldn't understand why that is ok. Gel fell off, yes, fell off within 3 days, they refused to fix without charging me all over again. This was the last chance for this place and they blew it. read more
