These are factual accounts of different peoples dealings with this company.
This company are a disgrace! They contacted me and led me in no uncertain terms to believe that I had previously sponsored them and had agreed some 6 months earlier to sponsor them again for their new publication which would be distributed to "thousands" of people via schools and business' in the my local area. Over the following 24hrs I had around 9 calls from other companies using EXACTLY the same wording. The next thing was the invoice arriving informing me of the amount due and the legally binding verbal contract I had entered into. They refuse to send in writing the terms and conditions of the contract, they have refused to tell me which schools etc the publication would be distributed by, they have been abusive on the phone, they have bombarded me with calls, they have passed my details on to a debt collection agency which is quite clearly calling from the same office as Strawberry. I have received a publication and have contacted every person listed in the back as an advertiser, everyone of them has told precisely the same story as this and the other two posts, none of them had agreed knowingly to advertising with Strawberry Educational, some had caved in under the pressure of the constant phonecalls a couple were fighting it. I have reported this company to both the DTI and trading standards and I would advise anyone that has been contacted by this company or one that uses similar tactics to do the same. I look forward to them taking me to court.
Yes very true.Steer well clear of this one. The smooth talking salesman and then you get hit with the recorded telephone conversation and the legally binding contract. I have had a heated argument with them today about misrepresentation and failure to agree to the terms of the so called offer. They had the cheek to tell me that I should have advised the salesman at the time what I required in the advert, colour, logo size etc. Essentially it's my fault!! They don't send you any T&C's with the proof, that's all in the verbal contract. I have taken legal advice, will NOT be paying and I am sending further letters by recorded delivery. Funny how they ignore your emails and seemingly can't correspond in writing and yet they can accept artwork by fax/email. Hhmm, yes we know why!! Don't be bullied, they pray on the innocent and now I know why there have been so many calls in the last few months. You get confused and then reel you in. I thought I was going mad, BUT it's not me, my memory is fine. Any other readers suffered at the hands of this Company?
Be very wary of this company. They cold call and masquerade as a company you've previously sponsored, once they've convinced you that you've dealt with them before they transfer you to another operator who then tape records the contract. You have 7 days to cool off and cancel after agreeing to the contract, make sure you send the cancellation letter by recorded delivery, my cancellation letter was lost in the post (!) and now am being relentlessly pursued for the money for something which doesn't actually exist.
Do not deal with them!!!!!! read more
