This review only relates to the restaurant at this hotel. Called Luigi's, it is handy for the…read morewestern end of Aberdeen, as also the commuter town of Westhill, as evidenced by the fact that it is quite popular on weekends. I've been there a few times, generally on Saturdays or Sundays, and I like it. The food is good quality and the service is efficient. The menu is also quite diverse, though obviously mostly Italian as promised by the name. The choice of wines on offer are decent, too. The staff are generally obliging - one visit there I was with an eccentric companion (lovely but a bit barmy, occasionally ate like a horse, but BMI firmly under 19 ) who decided to start with a main course, then ordered another, and when I was looking at desserts, asked for a starter. The staff hid their smiles well and got us our orders without a murmur. If there is one criticism, it's the lighting which can be a bit halogen-harsh, although I noticed last month that they were improving this. The general decor is a little dark and heavy, so strident illumination tends to jar. The restaurant has little side-booths which are better and softer lit. The menu advertises the Albyn restaurant, which I've reviewed on Qype - I'm not sure what the link is, but given the quality of the food, I wouldn't be surprised at all if I heard that they shared management or kitchen. Approximately £50 for two with a couple of drinks. Nae bad, I'd say, for what you get.

Great hotel if you work close by or don't have a rental car. The hotel is easily walkable from the…read moreairport and close by a bus stop to Union Street (Touristy Area with shops, bars, restaurants). If you book a room here you are given a free bus ticket to Union Street and back (30 min bus ride). The price for this hotel varies based on the day of the week. Weekends are cheap and weekdays are expensive. This is because this Hotel caters mostly to the working class who arrives here during workdays and goes home during weekends. Expect to pay less than 100 GBP during weekends and up to 200 during weekdays. Book early because there will not be any vacancies during certain week days. If there are no more rooms, then most likely the hotels around the area are full as well. There was a time when I came here with no more vacancies and the only close by hotel available was the Marriot in Dyce, located on the opposite side of the airport (45 minute walk or a short taxi ride). WIFI connection here is fast and stable. I had no issues with it, and it's free. Breakfast is not free and costs 10 GBP. Although it may seem a bit pricey for some, the quality is very good. They have a buffet of scrambled eggs, haggis, "bacon", beans, fruits, yogurt, breads, croissants, muffins, juices, good coffee and tea. Dinner is good here too but also around the same price of 10 GBP (depending on what you order). There aren't that many other restaurants around the area. I went to the airport to eat lunch before at one point. I do believe there are other restaurants in other hotels next door, but nothing really peaked my interest. There is a Shell station about a 5 minute walk away. They sell coffee, candies, sandwiches, milk, and other items you might see at a typical gas station. The sandwiches they sell there aren't half bad either. Half the price for food at the Hotel and it puts food in your stomach. Update: The hotel next door called Premier Inn has a restaurant inside that serves food slightly cheaper. A full breakfast is 8.75 GBP versus 10 GBP here. The dinner menu is even bigger too!

There's a coffee dispenser in the same area that's self serve with to-go cups or regular cups. The Market is well stocked and decently. Wi-fi is available and free. We got a king room...very nice decor. Room was clean. We were welcomed with truffles and a thank you card for being Marriott members. The room has a safe and small fridge in the wardrobe closet. They also offer a hair dryer. The desk is spacious and its chair is comfortable. Very nice Courtyard Marriott.
