As soon as you walk through security at Belfast International Airport you are presented with the Strangford Kitchen. You'll probably be struggling to put your belt back on or fumbling about with your toiletries when you first see it but don't let that put you off.
This place is a recent addition to the airport and a welcome one in my opinion. The décor is modern and there's plenty of plugs built in to the high stools which make it a perfect pit stop for business travelers of those just needing an extra bit of juice in their phones.
The food appears to be all local produce; they have a good local breakfast selection offering an Ulster Fry and a breakfast Soda among other delights. Prices are very reasonable for an airport. Even though they have the monopoly over hungry travellers they still have good deals - The breakfast Soda is only £5.50. They have plenty of pastries on offer too (see picture). This isn't just a greasy spoon cafeteria, they have a salad and fruit section which is nice as if you're travelling often you sometimes get sick of greasy or fast food.
At peak times The Strangford Kitchen can get busy with queues rivaling those for security but you some to expect queuing at an airport so this shouldn't be too much hassle.
With plenty of screens dotted around the seating area this is the perfect place to sit down, have a coffee, charge your phone and relax. read more
