With a large swimming lake, you can relax in cool, shallow water that's family friendly. It's an excellent place to bring kids too, with extra room around the area to play soccer, throw a frisbee or just relax on a blanket and take in some lunch. Admission is a very reasonable three euro. One of the great things about this place, is the ability to bring in food and drink. While glass bottles are not technically allowed, their lax enforcement means you can usually bring in a few cold beers. Coupled with some sandwiches and chips, you're having a blast. Unfortunately, there is no place for grilling. If you're looking for hot food, currywurst, pommes and other German imbiss staples can be purchased in a small (but surprisingly nice) building near the water. A little pricey for what it is, but good nonetheless. Finally, the surrounding area offers small canoes for rent, and the "beach" allows for a fair amount of leisure. However, on hot days the sand will be filled with children and the parking is very limited. For those arriving after the early morning, street parking will be your best option. And last, no dogs. TL:DR, Very family friendly, bring a cooler (but not a grill), gets very busy in the heat.

Truth be told, I'm not…read morea pro when it comes to camping grounds, as I don't have an RV and only do the occasional camping, but this one hit all the right spots for me: clean facilities, beautiful vista and a beach where you could sunbathe and even swim in the river! Plus, the folks who run this campground are super nice. In the evening I rode my bike into the nearby town of Bacharach and enjoyed a lovely dinner at Antica.

Location is pretty but thats about it. The camping ground is right below a street and rail-tracks,…read morewhich means its loud at night when cargo trains or motorcycles race by. Showers cost an additional fee yet dont even stay on long enough. Theres an extra fee for wifi and overstaying the checkout time (which we werent told in advance) for even the slightest bit will cost you an entire extra night even though there are still plenty of available spaces. Overall I unfortunately cant recommend this place and won't be coming back.
