One thing that I really appreciated from the beginning when I reached out for some more information, Josh asked to get on a call with my fiance and I to learn a bit more about our venue and wedding style and help fit us with one of their packages. I can't tell you how many other companies just sent over a brochure with their pricing with no follow-up. In speaking with Josh, he was very consultative, and also just a very pleasant person to talk with. After comparing a few other photographers, we landed on Storytellers because of their beautiful editing style, and we knew we would be in good hands with experienced professionals. We worked with Anel for our engagement photoshoot, and she was a complete gem. My husband and I are not picture people, and she was able to get us comfortable in front of the camera. Those pictures turned out beautifully. For the wedding, we worked with Anel and Andrew for photography, and Marilyn for videography, and I cannot stress how amazing it was to work with all of them. I was a bundle of nerves the day of my wedding, and not once did I have to worry about anything not being captured. If anything, being around them helped ease our nerves a bit, because they were all so nice to be around. We went with a full nine hour package, and by the end of the day, it felt like we all had gone through a journey together. Weddings are wild. The photos turned out beautifully, and we cried the first time we watched our video. We got to relive all of the beautiful details again (some that we didn't even get to see) without the stress that came with the big day. We worked with Joshua as our wedding photographer and he is absolutely fantastic! 1. The hiring process was very easy. Joshua and I had a phone interview where he asked what kind of 'feel' we were going for with our wedding and our style. He was very receptive towards all of my questions for him and gave us very honest and straight-forward answers. 2. Leading up to the wedding, he was very responsive to all of my bride-crazy questions. 3. On the day of the wedding, they arrived right on time. What I appreciated SO much was that when they arrived, they didn't come in with a huge gust of wind and create all this momentum around themselves. They came in so calm but with a plan and worked around me as I got ready. We didn't have some of the traditional elements (e.g. bridal party) but that was no issue and we did not lose out on photos because of that. In the pre-interview and list of pictures that I wanted, I completely forgot a couple of design items that I personally worked on. Without telling ever Joshua, he recognized those elements and got photos of them. 4. For the ceremony, Joshua was able to get so many beautiful shots and I don't even remember him being there! After the ceremony, he was fantastic about gathering everyone for the group family pictures and those came out so great! My husband and I are not comfortable taking photos and we have no idea what our 'angles' are. Joshua was able to create a space for both of us that we felt calm and comfortable and that definitely came across in the photos! His direction was spot on and we absolutely love what he captured. 5. He also did a great job at the reception! Speeches, dancing, and guests - he captured them all and those pictures are so much fun to look back on. 6. Getting the pictures back from him was no issue at all. I asked him if it was possible to airbush out a tattoo and he did with no problem at all and it looks very natural. Josh is fantastic!! My husband and I hired Josh to do a family photo shoot of us and our 2 dogs for Christmas cards that we are sending out, along with some individual head shots. We were photographed at Anthem Park and it was SOO windy that day! Our sweet pups were not interested in sitting nice for the pictures, so we had a lot of things out of anyone's control that were preventing us from getting a nice family photo shoot that day. Josh met us at the park and he was so friendly and personable. He just rolled with the wind that we were facing that day and he was so funny and cool about it. He knew about a place at the park that had a wind-breaker effect, so it wasn't as windy there. That was so helpful! I was worried that our pictures would have my hair in my face, but our pictures came back about a week after our shoot and they looked AMAZING!! They were so nice! He got some nice detail shots with the lace trim on my dress and our wedding rings. They are so professional and beautiful. My husband, Dan, and I found him a long time ago to take our engagement photos in La Jolla, CA and immediately connected with him. He has a great personality and made Dan and I feel completely comfortable. We were so excited when he informed us that his wife and him were expecting their first child!.... And it just so happened that the due date was around our wedding date! You could imagine, as a bride and groom, how that could make you feel if your photographer is expecting on the same date of your wedding! However, Dan and I were completely comfortable and confident in Josh because he said he would be there for us no matter what - also telling us that his wife will be taken care of by family if it just so happens to be around the same time. We chose Joshua to do a 10 year anniversary photo shoot while we were vacationing in Scottsdale. He really knows what he is doing! He did a great job recommending a location with desert scenery but not too far of a drive from us. Joshua suggested meeting as soon after sunrise as we could to take advantage of the best lighting. We got married last weekend- November, 18, 2016. We had Joshua as our photographer and he did such an awesome job! We did our engagement shoot in the late spring/early summer and we made it into a family shoot (we already have 2 kids) and he was great with us and the kids. I honestly wish I didn't have to write this review but after so much trouble, I feel it necessary to warn others about this company. As a bride, it's a terrible feeling when your most precious moments are lost and you have no way of reliving those memories - even when you're willing to pay more to get them. We used Josh & his team for our wedding back in Nov, 2019 and since then, have been trying everything possible to get our wedding video footage. While he was pretty great the day of our wedding, our interactions were very inconsistent since that day (and slightly before). While we've tried to be sensitive to that and his constant excuses, it doesn't make up for how we've been treated and what it means to be in a business relationship. The biggest issue, which we believe he got offended by and caused the latter, is that we were so disappointed with the photos returned to us after the wedding. These photos were NOTHING like displayed on his instagram - our most prize moments were blurry, overly grainy, yellow, and mostly very dark. There were a decent amount, maybe 20 photos, that we were okay with however. We had to push to get the raw files of all said photos - we he eventually caved into it. The 2nd part was the 2-3 minute wedding video he was to include in our package. We NEVER received this. It's been over a year now and the last email we received from him he said he couldn't deliver this to us and that he had a sick family member/how dare we bother him. It's literally devastating that someone could be this petty over video footage when a) they are just hanging onto it and b) we OFFERED TO PAY to get this. If someone is complaining about the effects of Covid to their business as much as this, why wouldn't you want to make extra cash? Overall please don't waste your time here and feel free to DM me if you need evidence of mentioned issues. The icing on the cake: today they posted a INSTAGRAM post of our wedding day saying how nice it was to meet/work with us, all FAKE! Literally disgusting. read more

He called the following morning while he was still away after shooting a wedding. He not only called but sent an email following the call.
