Charged for doing nothing. Requested assistance with a side lanai screen that would not come down all the way and continuously got stuck. Repair person came out and said he could try to fix but recommended I replace instead with a new screen since material was under warranty. If he had told me I was still being charged for the visit I would have said to fix it then. He did no work at all to repair and left within 10 minutes of arriving, leaving me to believe I was not being charged. I had prepaid mandatory service fee of $165 for "repairs" to be done. I'm now told I must pay yet another additional $165 when new shade arrives and installed. Beware of Storm Smart and be sure you want to keep paying hundreds of dollars every year in "service fees" for something you pay thousands for in initial cost and should not require servicing so frequently, if at all when installed correctly in the first place. read more

They have the worst customer service i have ever seen. Agent on phone had an attitude as if i was a bother and she didnt want to do her job. I asked her to call the tech to see what the eta was for arrival on a third attempt to finish their work. She told me she has no way to contact their own technician. Thats a problem, then suddenly when i said that is an issue, she put me on hold and did contact the technician and gave me an updated eta. Wow, that was so hard for her. I had storm smart screens installed after hurricane Irma. All are easy to install except one. I had difficulty each time I needed to install it but failed to call them for a re-do. When Milton approached, I tried to put it up for the third time. It took almost an hour to do so with two people as it's about a quarter inch to narrow. While I realized I should have called earlier, this problem isn't a wear item but a construction issue. Now they want $165 to come out an look at it. read more

Storm Smart installed storm screens in our lanai to protect our sliding glass doors and the back of our home. When we had them installed we were told that we can use them to block the sun as well as for hurricane protection, but were not expecting to use this function much. Turns out we use it quite often. Not only does it block the sun but cools off the lanai and the house interior. Installation was very professional. Very easy to operate. Peace of mind during storms. All while still advertising all over the place and doing installs for the new customers no problem. Beware the hurricane shade. Purchased new in Dec.2021 at a cost of over $4000. Hurricane Ian Sept. 2022 bent in the bottom bar allowing wind and debris inside the lanai. Called the salesman a couple days after the hurricane. He and his daughter came out and helped me bend the metal bottom back in the track. Track was defective as indicated by salesman. After several calls they said it was an act of God and sent me an invoice for $740 for labor ,parts and $130 assessment. To summarize, the 1 year warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. If the screen fails its an act of God and no warranty. If its defective parts you are still on your own. Unfortunately a company that doesn't stand behind its product! read more

The product itself is very good, but the company is anything but smart. When I have needed help and call the company, I get transferred around non-stop and no one is able to answer my question. Recently I had need of help, I made a half dozen calls trying to get someone to give me some assistance to reconnect my hub to my phone so that I can operate the screens remotely. No one was able to give me any assistance and I got transferred endlessly. Finally, someone insisted that the reason I could not connect my phone is that the bridge I am using is no longer operable and that I had to give them almost $400 up front to have them schedule to replace it with their new model. Two months later the person came out to install it and said, "Oh no, they don't know what they're talking about," and within 10 seconds had the bridge connected. Then they wanted to charge me $165 for that service call. I have made another 7 or 8 calls to dispute the charge and they still have not resolved it to my satisfaction. I had them install manual aluminum roll down shutters, an accordion shutter, and electric roll down shutters. then install team did a great job. They showed me how to use them and just as importantly how to maintain them. After a year I've had no problems. in addition, they led to a significant savings on my homeowners insurance. We purchased Storm Smart screens with the understanding that 95% of water stays out of the covered area. This is not true If you have a heavy rain that hits the screen. Not sure how effective the screens will be during a hurricane. Our metal roll down shutters were great during Irma. Very good protection from sunlight. We contracted with Storm Smart in the summer of 2021. Numerous problems scheduling installation. Additionally, they wanted full payment prior to installation which was not part of the agreement. Tried to set up a service call, left messages with no response. Finally got scheduled for Friday Oct 20th with a window of 12:00 - 4:00 pm. I called after 1:00 to confirm we were on the schedule and was assured we still were. Called back about 4:30 as window had passed and was advised the service tech wouldn't make it due to prevoius appointment running long. I called. They didn't call or show. This makes Storm Smart UNRELIABLE. Received a phone call today Oct 23, to apologize and try to reschedule in the next few weeks. I was also informed the service tech on Friday had an emergency and couldnt make our appointment. I am sorry to hear of the emergency but why 2 different stories. Why do we have to wait weeks to get rescheduled when we did nothing to cause it. This is Storm Smarts issue, not ours. I did receive a call earlier today advising of a new appointment for tomorrow. I cannot say enough about the exceptional level of service to us during this difficult time of preparing for the hurricane. Charlie came to our home yesterday at the dispatchers request because for the first time we would be using a brace to secure the screen to flooring..... could not find the brace or any of the pieces. Because the screen was 3 years old Charlie did not have a replacement for us. He told us exactly what we needed to do, how to measure for a new piece and called the repair service team in Fort Myers to ensure we would be able to have the custom sized piece for pick up this morning. He called us at 7:30 this morning knowing we were anxious to get this done and installed as soon as possible. When we got to the Fort Myers location the team went out of their way to get us what we needed at no cost to us. Offered to come out at any time to check to ensure properly fitting and called us later to make sure everything was OK. I could not be MORE satisfied with this company !!! They are extremely professional. I recently had to have my storm catcher screens removed and reinstalled after I had pavers put on my lanai. They called me before and after the disassemble and reassemble to make sure I was happy with the work. Lucas was the best! My screens are working as well if not better than before! I wanted to offer some positive and some negative feedback on the installation of our hurricane shutters. As most people start with the negative, I will submit the positive first. Our sales person, John Mcenroe was excellent! Throughout the whole process, he was available to offer support and assistance whenever needed. He is indeed an asset to your company. I also want to offer positive feedback to our installer Antonio C. Our installation took three days and Antonio worked diligently to complete the job. Various parts of the installation were not manufactured correctly it had to be redone. He communicated what time he would be there and what was transpiring during the installation. He did an excellent job. As for the not so positive part of the experience, those were the most frustrating that I've experienced in a while. The communication from the office was abysmal. Our order should've been installed the first week in August. There were some issues with the approval, which I will take some ownership of. My issue is that Wendy never communicated with me that she did not receive approval. I had to call several times to find out why I did not receive an installation date. That is when I found out that part of the process had not been completed. The process had not been made clear to me nor was it communicated to me that the process had not been completed. Once I was made aware of that, it was completed within 36 hours. I still did not receive an installation date. I called several times and left messages and also emailed and never received a reply from Wendy. I contacted my salesman John who then was able to receive a callback from Wendy. The lack of communication from your company is atrocious. I would not recommend your company to another customer unless these issues are addressed. We paid our deposit in good faith and expected a certain level of expertise and service which we did not receive. I also paid in full, the remainder of our bill against my better judgment. read more

It takes weeks to get someone to show up and the last person they sent didn't have all the tools needed to do a simple repair and now my shutters are permanently down while I wait another multiple weeks for them to come back. This is probably the least professional company I have had to deal with on my home. They are not good about returning phone calls and their service is sparse.
