Specifically, we hired Commercial to install a new roof on our building, having been lead to believe they were authorized to do business in the State of New York, that their work would be no less than workmanlike, and that they warranted their work and materials for 20 years in the event of any problems with the roof -- all of which turned out to be COMPLETELY FALSE. Commercial, and apparently Flat Roof Doctor, is not authorized to do business in New York State, their work was sub par and incomplete, and they failed to honor their written warranty after we experienced significant leaks during a rain storm. Perhaps worse of all -- if all of that were not enough -- was dealing with Naas Ferreira, who is the most unprofessional contractor we have ever worked with and who treated us with enmity and anger -- as evidenced by an unbroken string of a dozen or so hostile text messages in which he rants and raves like a petulant child. We ended up having to hire another roofer to fix the problems with Commercial's shoddy work and to sue Commercial to recoup our losses. We URGE to to AVOID Commercial and any other business in which Naas Ferreira has an interest (such as Flat Roof Doctor) AT ALL COSTS. And, FYI -- we are being forced to give them a star rating even though they do not deserve even one start.

There is a lot of misinformation out there about different flat roof systems that is biased and just not accurate. Call these guys if you have questions. They will provide non-biased information based experience! There is not a lot of room for error with low slope roofs, and you want to make sure you are working with an expert in this specific type of roof. Flat roof doctor knows their craft well.

buyer beware of commercial roof usa and any roofing company owned and/or operated by naas ferreira…read more in august 2024, a court in connecticut found that commercial roof usa ("commercial roof"), owned/operated by naas ferreira, acted negligently, fraudulently, and in breach of contract with respect to its business operations and work performed for our brooklyn, n.y., coop and entered judgment against commercial roof in the amount of almost $5,000, to cover all losses we suffered as a result of commercial roof's unlawful conduct. the specifics are as followed: * commercial roof usa refused to honor its written, express 20-year warranty to repair damage to our roof caused by a bad thunderstorm. * we discovered, after the fact, that commercial roof usa was not even registered to do business in the state of new york, as it represented. * a reputable roofer we had to hire to repair the damage to our roof found multiple problems directly caused by commericial roof's poor workmanship and negligence. * our coop sued commercial roof and eventually won the suit with the findings and judgment noted above. commercial roof has not paid the judgment, as ordered by the court, and, thus, is in contempt of court. we post this warning because we do not want anyone else to be the victim of commercial roof's and/or naas ferreira's unlawful and unprofessional practices and conduct. buyer beware!

I live in a Brooklyn Brownstone apartment with a flat roof that has been leaking. Multiple prior roofers evaluated the leak and a new roof membrane was placed, however, the problem persists. To make things more complicated there is now a roof deck above the new roof membrane. Desperate to find someone that could help me find and repair the leak, I scoured the internet and came across Commercial Roof USA and Naas Ferreira. They had previously received wonderful recommendations in the Brownstone forums. I spoke with Naas directly. He could not have been more helpful on the phone and made it clear he was always available. His business is family owned. He sent his sons Erik and Sven to check my roof. They could not have been nicer, more professional or more honest. Erik crawled around under my deck and evaluated every inch of the roof to look for problems. He found several spots on the flashing of the new roof that were the likely culprits. Needless to say, this job would have been much easier if there was not a roof deck, but Erik was determined to do all in his power to not damage anything unnecessarily. More work will be needed, but I won't let any other roofer near my roof deck other than Naas and his sons. They did the roof on my house. I may as well flushed 7k down the toilet. The workers were 2…read morejuveniles and 1 adult, none of whom spoke English. I had broken and cracked sheathing which I pointed out before they started. They didn't replace any of the wood, just shingled over large gaps and rotten areas. The ridge vent looked like it was cut by a blind man, 6 inches wide down to 2 inches. They left the shingles overhanging 2 inches on the sides of the roof. They never touched the flashing over the garage. They nailed the aluminum trim from my siding into the roof at the end, ruining it. It wasn't nailed before and it's not supposed to be nailed. It all lifted up later. I paid extra to have the chimney cap repaired. The guy spent 20 minutes on that, just slathered new cement over the broken and cracked cap. The rain gutters were left jam packed with shingles, nails and debris. The owner seems nice but don't let this fool you. He acted like I was crazy when I questioned anything. They did end up replacing some of the broken sheathing after I complained. I believe they farmed out the work on my house although he claimed the adult had worked with him for years. All of the work done was shoddy and incompetent.
