I hired Mr. Storey to handle my deceased father's estate. At first he was professional. I had several conversations with him and he did return my calls promptly and answered most of my questions. When it came time to sell my fathers house, things changed. I was under the impression that the sale was good to go, until last minute he informed me that he hadn't filed the necessary paperwork. Then he snuck his fee into the sale of the house to collect his payment. I thought that was odd, and unprofessional. But I owed him either way so didn't think much of it other than the bill was almost double what he had estimated when I hired him. He sent me an itemized receipt for his fees and also racked on an extra fee of almost 1000$. When I emailed him and asked him to explain that fee he ignored me. After a couple weeks I demanded a refund for that fee, which he did send me a check promptly. For obvious reasons, I was agitated with him at this time and told him I was done with his services. He emailed me back saying I needed to come in to close out the estate, which I did not do.
A year later he withdrew as my attorney. The best advice he gave me was when he recommended that I hire another attorney. I wouldn't work with him again. read more
