Inside you'll find a good exhibition of the history of the naval shipyard, the town's proud connection with the RAF's Sunderland Flying boat squadrons and lots of associated memorabilia There a pleasant little cafe inside and lots of helpful well informed volunteers in attendance should you have any questions. I would have given 5 stars but this is not the finished product as yet, there are more things planned that will justify 5 stars rating.

What a lovely place to visit! Tucked right out of the way, near south beach, you will see the sign…read moreposts for it. We took the children there and they loved seeing the lifeboat up close! There is a nice little souvenier shop there too. Some things were quite expensive but you can pick some cheap things up for the kids to remind themselves of their visit. We also learned a thing or two about the lifeboat charity.
