Not only do they offer more bases than I've seen elsewhere (açaí, pitaya, coconut, green, banana, mango, chia, and oatmeal), but they also let you do half-and-half of 2 different flavors! They are also very generous with the portion size for what you pay. Their menu is extensive with tons of creative topping and base pairings. The bowls are well blended with the perfect consistency and the fruit is always fresh. The ambiance is very tropical with Hawaiian surf shop type vibes. When you step inside the store, it feels like you're on vacation at the beach....It's the perfect way to cure the winter blues. The employees are friendly and the service is usually fast. My favorite is the Pura Vida Açaí bowl which consists of açai base topped with crunchy granola, blueberry, strawberry, and honey. I usually add Chia seeds as well. I appreciate that gluten free granola is available as a substitution. In addition to bowls, they also offer smoothies, juices, and chicory cold brews. Pro tip: Download the app and sign up for their reward program to earn points towards free bowls and other perks like $3 off your next order, double points day and other coupons only available to reward members.

When I complained because my bowl wasn't filled all the way they "fixed it" by just slapping some more açaí and pitaya. Just go to another playa location not worth it. I got really bad stomach ache and I usually don't ever from playa when I eat there but from this one I did. Like honestly a bowl doesn't have to be picture perfect I get also all my fruit got covered by the slapped in açaí and pitaya but it's there. I forgot to get a picture of what it looked like before but it looked the equivalent of just under 1/2 eaten. Just go to Rochester or Bloomfield I've never had issues like that before at either of those places even when those places are slammed.

It's a nice place for a meal: a little bit loud, due to the hard walls and metal ceiling, but alot of places are similar. We try to ignore it because we're here to eat, right? I ordered the Bacavdo omelet and she had avocado toast: we each decided on water, which arrived chilled in a milk bottle with two glasses and a third, larger glass of ice. I like that, as I don't want a glass of ice with added water. My meal was good: plenty of shattered bacon, cheese wrapped in an egg blanket...it came with artisan toast, pico and salad greens, along with strawberry perserves. The greens, most baby spinach, seemed an odd pairing with an egg dish...but I ate it. Her avocado toast came with an over-easy egg, and it's a good thing too, as the avocado was especially bland without tomato or onion. She said it was 'okay' and I usually get more of a reaction from her, so there you are. All in all, it was an interesting breakfast but we'll only be back if I get another gift card: nearly $30 for breakfast is a bit steep for us retirees. DINKs under 40 would probably really like it.
