Veritas offers a very modern look, upbeat, honest and entertain sermon, but maintains an old school message. They preach directly from the bible which makes their message very transparent. There is also a HUGE lack of begging for money. No baskets are passed and there are no reminders to put some cash in the tithe. It's refreshing to say the least. My 11 year old daughter is also involved with the middle school youth program and absolutely loves seeing all of her friends and church leaders every Wednesday night. (The pizza dinner is an added bonus) If you are searching... for something missing in your life.... for a place to call home... for friends... for a relationship with Christ.... Give Veritas a try.

I love attending Antioch! I feel like I am so welcomed when I attend and the people are always…read morewelcoming. I work on the road and am gone maybe 6 months per year, however I always have the option to listen to the sermons online, so I don't really feel like I have left! Being able to listen to the music is always a pleasure and isn't the old boring stuff I grew with played on an organ or piano. Real music for the person today! The church is growing so much and have new baptisms all the time so God must be blessing them so for their dedication to the community. I would recommend everyone to come and check them out. If this doesn't already encourage you to check Antioch out...how about donuts and coffee? Antioch offers complimentary donuts (wide variety of flavors) and drip coffee. They also have a coffee shop on site where you can get a latte, frappe, machiatto, or smoothie before or after the service. I think it is better than Starbucks! I mean come on, how cool is it that Jim Bonewald, the pastor is at least willing to put his church Yelp in the first place. And yes, Yelp may be more of an urban hipster thing, but I do believe Cedar Rapids can represent with the best of them! Jim is a thoughtful person, balanced and creative. Knox PC must be a great place to be in community. So, I have never been to the church, probably won't be headed to Iowa any time soon, but IF I were going there, Knox would definately be on the list.
