I've been a long time customer of Stone Oak Dermatology and happy to share that I'm a very satisfied patient. I see the posts about Dr. Banta's personality as well as them pushing products when you visit. First of all Dr. Banta may not be the most chatty person in the world, but she has always been professional and done a fantastic job of helping me out from things like precancerous areas to minor surgeries. She is excellent and very thorough in her diagnosis and care. She now has a PA who I tend to see more often who is also fantastic, friendly and thorough as well. Regarding products...sure they recommend their products because they know they work...it's not like some of the stuff they hype on the internet or sell at your local Grocery store. Was referred here by my PCP, only because I requested someone close to my home. The doctor had no bed side manner and actually I felt she was quite rude to me. Needless to say I never went back and I would not recommend unless you don't mind someone cold and sterile. read more

The office can get you on quickly but the follow up service is horrible. They burned several spots, collected the money and said they would follow up with referral etc Left message no return call called again went to voice message then called again I believe it was an answering service who said we needed to allow 48 hours. Explained we had they transferred us to an office manager only to receive their voice mail. Received a bill in the mail today for balance of what insurance did not pay, thinking they want their money ASAP I will be finding a new facility. read more

They took my $3,600 and nothing changed. It was like I hadn't gotten anything done. The girl said I had some Botox left and would get a refund. I was told to go back In a week. A few days they called me that my appointment was cancelled and the girl that worked on me was no longer employed. I went to get copies of my records. My last name was misspelled. My date of birth was wrong. I pointed it out and I was ignored. I told her that's why I am going to go to small claims court. If you make no effort to correct my paperwork then how could I expect professionalism. read more

They change your appointment times at their discretion with no notification. The outsourced scheduling service provides a barrier that takes long amounts of times to get through to work with front desk only during very strict times. They are argumentative and combative about their priority of scheduling changes and disrespectful of my time as a long-time patient, having spent what I consider a large amount of money with them. They have gotten to a point where I guess business is so good that they can run off business that isn't available or willing to meet their indiscriminate scheduling needs. If you have any time demands on your schedule, you are at risk depending on this service to accommodate whatsoever. They are unapologetically disrespectful with scheduling restrictions, barriers, and their own cancellations. Not an individual incident. Finally gave up after multiple negative experiences. WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND TO A SOMEONE IN BUSINESS OR PROFESSIONAL ROLE. read more

On my first visit with Dr Banta, I asked for Botox only , no filler injections. Then after several visits I started to notice lumpy areas. On my last visit I was told those areas were from filler injections. I went in for Botox, not filler injections. I don't like the lumps that a person can see from a certain angle. Now I don't know if they will eventually go away or am I stuck with/ the lumps. It's been almost a yr since my last visit to Dr Banta at Stone Oak Dermatology on Stone Oak. Absolutely the worst service I've received in a long time. They rarely answer the phone and never call back. My son has suffered due to their incompetence and lack of concern and service. I not only would never recommend this doctor and her staff but I would warn anyone reading this to not do business with them. On top of poor service I paid while there and then was billed again at my next visit for the previous and that continued w each visit. My son needed a caring dermatologist and instead we've been ignored, received bad advice and when expressing my concerns I was labeled as a problem customer and treated with even less respect than before. I still don't have my sons medical records so that I can see another dermatologist. I am shocked and disappointed in the way they handle themselves and their business. They should close their doors and let us find services providers that care about their patients and that have some integrity and self respect. They'll take your money but not your calls or concerns. Today was my first visit to Stone Oak Dermatology, so I was a little apprehensive. From the moment I walked in, the waiting room was full, but the staff was very attentive. Patients were being called in relatively quick. Fortunately they had me complete the usual paperwork, insurance, etc ahead of my appointment which saved a lot of time. I was called in within 10 minutes from arrival. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I got to meet Dr. Banta who did my procedure. She's very personable, professional, beautiful, and you can tell she has a genuine caring soul. She was gentle and explained everything. First, I am so pleased that I found this dermatology clinic close to home because it is not a 'Group-on' drive through waste of time. I was so done with Group-on and dermatology. Dr. Banta is a real doctor with up to date 'authentic' products. Results are very impressive and she is very experienced. Looks like I haven't posted a review in a couple of years. I'm not sure how long I've been going to Dr. Banta's office but I'm sure it's been well over 5 years. She always has great specials and I definitely take advantage of them. Staff is friendly and easy to talk to. I ask a lot of questions and the staff is knowledgeable. Victoria was really sweet & kind . The esthetician was also very nice. Every time I've gone, Dr. Banta seems like unless you're in there to spend a lot of money on cosmetic procedures she doesn't want to be bothered. I was there for skin cancer. This doctor allowed her assistant to diagnose me. I constantly found myself surfing the Internet for solutions. then telling HER what I found. They also don't seem to realize that their walls/doors are not soundproof, and I could hear everything that was said, about me AND the other patients. The front office staff cannot handle bills, prescriptions, schedules, etc. efficiently. They claim that "they have 24 hours to call in a prescription"! Why would they not call it in to the chosen pharmacy ASAP? Ultimately, I found out what my true problem was, elsewhere. EDIT: Dear "doctor." There is a very serious problem among MILLIONS, related to a formaldehyde allergy. A chemical found in MANY household products. Read about it. Learn. Educate yourselves. I had to find out ON MY OWN. YOU told me that I HAD SCABIES! That was your diagnosis for a very serious, and documented, allergy. Check out CDC, or Mayo. It's in laundry detergent, soaps, lotions, pesticides, flooring, etc. For some of us, it's like poison ivy. Stop allowing your NURSES to make the diagnosis. I see that someone else endured the "scabies" concept. read more

Two complaints about this practice. 1. Dr. Banta does not give you any of her tome unless you are having a cosmetic procedure done. I went to Stone Oak for routine skin check and other related issues. She popped in for maybe 5minutes barely examining my freckles and moles. This was the norm as I've been three times and experienced the same level each time. 2. The billing department always messes up the payments. The last visit I was charged in full on the spot, the insurance was charged (which they told me they wouldn't bill insurance because it wasn't allowed), and then I was billed again for the difference the insurance wouldn't cover. This occurred in February 2020 and still has not been resolved (August 2020 now). I call and never receive call backs that are promised. This business just feels poorly run and I can't stand that they get away with essentially double dipping on payments. Would not recommend. read more

I absolutely love my visits with Dr. Banta! She has helped me restore confidence in myself. I have gotten Botox around my eyes and on my forehead and I cannot emphasize enough on how natural it looks! I have been to Dr Banta for Botox several times and I love the results! She is gentle and does not over do it so it looks very natural and she follows up 2 weeks later to make sure you are happy. I usually get a little more during the follow up because I like my eyes to be completely wrinkle free. She has also treated me for a skin infection and they always take me in for last minute appointments which is greatly appreciated. Dr. Banta is the most unprofessional woman in this industry. Expect to wait over 45minutes to an hour past your appointment time, til you will be seen. Second, she has no clue or idea of what you are talking about and has no good suggestions for certain skin. She charged me $150 for the office visit and no treatments plans nor any advice. Now, today I get slammed with another $64 charge for the office Visit, even though i have already paid for the office visit in CASH when I saw her 8 months AGO!!!!! I especially like the no pressure service. She gives you all the information to help you make an informed decision. Worst experience ever! First of all, Dr Banta is very pretentious & unfriendly. Her lack of bedside manner from the get go made me feel uncomfortable. Her staff handed me a brochure with her mission statement, etc. in where she stated she performs a full skin cancer screening on all her new patients. I stated in my medical history that I had a history of a pre cancerous lesion on my back. She did not perform a screening on me. She then blamed me by stating I declined having one done. Total lie! She is not concerned with your well being. Rather she is more concerned with making money off of cosmetic procedures. This is evident in the cosmetic procedure flyers that are handed to you at walk in & upsale of expensive products. Do not waste your time with this office. Doctor Banta helped me after my face was traumatized by another dermatology office. I did not know who to trust to help me. Doctor Banta made me feel relaxed and confident in her ability to help me. She has a calm, confident, and warm personality. She listened to me patiently while she studied my face. When I walked into her office my face looked like it had been in a war zone. I spent more then enough money trying to rid "scabies" turned out I had an encounter with bedbugs on vacation, and that I had to self diagnose (Ivermectin is not cheap). And you will not be refunded for the misdiagnosis. Also, everyone in the office is either rude or has rocks for brains.... Take this as a warning, that everything in their office is over priced and has very weary reviews online. I do not trust this as a real doctor's office. They even ask you to use their own "by phone pharmacy". read more

I went to see Dr. Banta for a suspicious mole on my leg. She removed the top to have it tested and it came back almost melanoma so she had to do surgery to remove the surrounding area to make sure it was all gone. I was grateful that she was able to take care of that for me but felt that she was very rude during the procedure and not professional at all when she was cutting into my leg. The whole time she was talking to her assistant about what happened on Dancing With the Stars the night before and about her plans for the weekend. Not once during the procedure did she tell me what was going on or reassure me of anything. Now, 2 months after having my stitches removed there is a horrible scar. You can see where every stitch was put in and the area that was cut open never healed together. I am very disappointed in the lack of professional nature that she took with me. I feel that a dermatologist, someone who supposedly cares about how your skin looks, should have never left someone with this bad of a scar. Overall I would not recommend going to her if you have the ability to go somewhere else. read more

I came in July 2019. I was interviewed and came up with a plan to work on my skin then ultimately get a liquid face lift. The dr cam in at the end to determine what and how much fillers I would need at the end.i was given a price for each , had 2 factora treatments cost $1500 nd the treatment kit $360, then I purchased another process can't remember the name but it infuses the skin with vitiman c I think , Christine did this , she is excellent. My plan, that I was given had the prices on it so I would know what was next and the price. At the time of My Inital visit I was told there are always specials and that on my birthday month I could get the Botox 20% less. I called in my birthday month but was told I had already been given 20% off and had the best price but that was not what I was told. I was told I would get 20% of the price I was quoted. Then when I called to pay for the fillers, because I was told to call to get the special wish was buy one get one free, this meant I would pay for 4 and get 4 free. I was told no.i had to pay for the price on my plan, it made no sense to me. The current special made my prosecute 1/2 price but I spoke to one person then was passed to another both insisting even though I had been told to call and take advantage of the specials the price was much higher because I would get the prices given to me in July. They said they were sorry for the confusion but I was not confused, I was given a price in July then told to call when it came on special and get the discount or 2 for 1 of that product. After going back and forth I finally said I just would cancel and asked for a refund on the Botox. After a couple of calls they refunded my money BUT what they should have done was give me my plan at the current special off of what they quoted were the prices in July and I would have paid and been a very happy customer. That should have been their offer instead of saying over and over they were sorry for the confusion. They have great treatments, alittle price ( but they have specials (?). Before you leave , after you are given a written price have them sign it that if there are specials and you can get those prices. They will also up sell a procedure or product each time you go in but that is expected and not pushy. I felt like the price was a bait and switch and cannot give higher points because of it. read more
