Where else can you buy a whole box of tomatoes for a couple of quid and tomatoes that really taste like a tomato should. The farm shop sells their own free range eggs, vegetables grown on the farm, jams and marmalades made in the shop, 'ready meals' made in the restaurant as well as the more usual produce that is more widely available in farm shops across Devon. There is a great little comfy area for children with a sofa and toys - perfect for letting them play while the mummy's enjoy a well deserved cuppa and a chat! The rest of the cafe is also very cosy and comfortable. A perfect stop after a wild walk on Haytor!

I went this morning to Morrisons supermarket in Pomphlett Road, Plymouth…read more Parking was difficult, as the spaces are very small, and on leaving I found it difficult to find the exit ! Inside the store was chaos, like a third world country. The queues for the few manned checkouts which were open were about 15 people long. I went through the Self Checkout, which was difficult as I had not done it before. The ladies who were helping there were pleasant and prompt despite being under a lot of pressure from customers. I had alcohol in my cart, and on leaving the store the alarm sounded, so I had to show my receipt and then return to get a tag taken off the bottle. I asked the ladies if the store was always chaos like this, and one of them told me that the self checkout area is horrible, and they all hate working in it. To crown it all, when I got home I found a little yellow tag on a top I had bought, which I did not see when I took the garment from the clothing area, and because I went through self checkout nobody took it off for me as would have happened in a manned checkout. I fear this means I will have to return to this horrible, horrible shop again to have the tag removed, but that will certainly be the last time I ever shop at Morrisons. This is most definitely a very badly managed store.

I've used the photo part many times and it saves time as you're there doing your shopping anyway! As with all supermarkets, customer service is very high on the agenda, and there are always plenty of staff hanging around the aisles who seem to know every minute detail about where everything can be found. At times it feels like some of these people should be on the tils, as cues can build up quite quickly, but still - you can't have everything I suppose.

They still have a lovely selection of products with every flavour of pasty you could think of. The pasties are coming out of the oven regularly so you know you are always eating fresh too. They can also make fresh baguettes or sandwiches for you while you wait. There are a lovely selection of dougnuts and fresh cream cakes. I find the 99p Salami good value and the Chicken wings at £1.50 for a box of 6 at the moment. Managed to get lots of BOGOF so only ended up spending £23 which if I hadnt taken the offers would have cost over £40. Staff are friendly and always willing to have a chat when its quiet. Good stock of all items.

The only problem with the shop is the width of the aisles - not easy to manoevre round with a buggy. So why put the baby food at the back of the shop?NOTE The shop is in the process of moving up to the Market Square (should open March 2010)
