What a beautiful day for Wine tasting. The day was crisp ..... fresh and exhilarating !! This was what I thought was the best of our wine tasting destinations. It was easy to get to and once there were looked after very well by the owners who were very happy to arrange a lovely garden area to taste our selections. As a big group, we all had a great time as the wine was poured liberally with a nice description of the variety of grape and all it's subtle characteristics. The wines were great .... Red & Whites ..... the views magnificent ..... and the experience as a whole, very memorable !! ..... A place I will come back to in the future .... next time taking home a bigger haul of merchandise. read more

Situated in the picturesque bush settings of the Central Ranges, Stockman's Ridge Wines have a vision of producing premium cool climate wines. Nestled in the West of Orange, the vineyard sits at an altitude of 780 metres. Their stunning tree lined driveway and new vineyard lead you to the relaxed and intimate cellar door where you'll discover wines that are a true expression of the unique qualities and character of the region. Wines with elegance and complexity, with beautiful balance and length. Serious wine lovers will find much to absorb them and much to discuss with Jonathan, Owner and Winemaker or the experienced cellar door staff.

History

Established in 2002.

The first vines were planted in 2004/05 and 2005/06 and our first wines were made in 2008 being our Reds, 2009 saw the introduction of our Whites followed by our Rose and in 2011 we release the first Bubbly. In 2012 we expanded in to Orange and planted more vines and in 2013 our long awaited Cellar Door will open to public!

With a drive and passion for producing wine Jonathan has built Stockman's Ridge from the ground up. With nothing but a blank canvas Stockman's Ridge grows 6 Varieties of Grapes and 5 Varieties of Cherries. Originally working in IT and with a passion for Sales and Marketing, wine a a dream career combining all these aspects with the rawness of farming and getting your hands dirty.

This cute little winery just outside of Orange was a fun break in our day. We stopped for a wine…read moretasting and also ordered one plate of pairings of foods to go with half of the wines we tried. The gal who served us was very knowledgeable of the grapes and the process of making the wines. She was very busy that afternoon, but we never felt rushed and enjoyed our experience.

It was a crisp winters afternoon at this small Winery ...... as a group of 12 ... we were well…read morelooked after .... staff & owners very happy to receive us and have us all seated and food placed on offer for ordering. The wine sampling was quick to start (although cost each participant $5.00) for the experience. I guess it's the associated cost of a larger group. Without going into too much Wine detail ..... all the different varieties we fresh, crisp and flavorsome ...... and on our departure ...... a good selection across the board purchased. Would I come Back ?? ..... Probably not, for no other reason that I felt I had discovered & explored it pretty well already. With so many great Wineries in the Orange region ..... I feel every visit would be a new set of locations .... from year to year .....
