They said it looked like the problem was actually mossy gutters so they cleaned the gutters. And charged £300. The issue got worse. I had to threaten them to get them back. They came back and said it was now a blocked downpipe. So how come they didn't see that in the first place. And that I should replace the gutters and they couldn't do that for £300. Meanwhile I had another roofer look and he said the whole problem was the gutters and he could have cleaned them for £60 but better, replaced them for £170. 1st Call are Rip off merchants.

I clicked on 1 pound symbol...does that mean a low price or a high price? I want to tell you about…read morewhat Grass Roots Horticulture charged for completely transforming my rear garden. I couldn't believe how little they wanted to do it too. But anyway, that's not the real important thing. I recently bought a house - my first!! yay! - and the rear garden was a real bomb site. There was the skeleton of an old greenhouse, piles of rubble everywhere, mountains of bricks, window frames, a bed...I think you get the picture. It must have been a dumping ground for many years. Oh, and there were horrible concrete paths all around the garden, which simply had to go. And the lavels were all over the place. I wanted all the rubbish and rubble gone, the concrete paths gone, and the levels landscaped and profiled. I felt so sorry for the Grass Roots lads because as they were scaping the land - after spending 3 days taking everything to the skip - they kept finding more and more rubble that had been buried. This explains the occasional big piles of soil. Why would people bury rubble? So, when everything had been removed and the land was profiled, weedkiller was sprayed onto all the soil surfaces. Paul then came back 2 weeks later and re-sprayed because he said weeds love bare soil. He didn't charge for this, by the way. We then discussed how to create the perfect garden for me and my ducks - which I will be buying soon. Anyway, I've rambled on far too long. All I wanted to say is that I cannot recommend Grass Roots highly enough. The garden looks absolutely amazing now and I cannot believe the transformation. I am in awe of the Grass Roots boys. I was introduced to Paul at Grass Roots Horticulture through a close friend of mine, and we…read morediscussed what I wanted from my garden. I gave him some ideas and asked him what he thought...and it was at this point that I realised that he understood what I wanted more than i did, or I knew it but I hadn't conyeved it to him. I was worried for a moment, because he just stood there in silence looking at the garden. Then he turned around and began painting a picture with words of what the garden would look like. It was incredible to witness. He's a real garden-Rainman! So this is where it all began. Paul and his team accomplished exactly what they'd put on paper, with rear style and panache. I work from home, so looking out of my window when I have writer's block is a new thing for me. I never wanted to see what was out there, but now it's incredible. I can't look at it enough. Paul sent me a link to add a review, and I'm so glad he did. This is another way for me to thank him and his team for a truly incredible job! Well done!! Joseph Thomas Bullet Proofreading

Following the fence, I have had a raised shed base with a retainer for a soil bank done and am delighted by that result too. Darren is a very friendly chap and he has a "can do" attitude, who talks through your various options and he backs this up by doing the job with hard graft, speed and to a very high standard. Indeed, he and his brother Dean are both hard workers. They arrived when they said they would and worked as late as was necessary to complete the work. They also took away any rubble/waste and left the site clean and tidy. Thanks very much for your excellent work on both jobs.
