Stinging Fork Falls is a hidden, under the radar waterfall in Tennessee, located just outside the town of Spring City, TN. It's a 1.5 mile out and back hike to uncover a 30-foot waterfall that plunges into a translucently green pool visitors can go swimming in. The charming walk through the forest descends down staircases navigating into a tucked away gorge that is the foundation for a beautiful setting. Come prepared with water shoes because Stinging Fork Falls will be the perfect opportunity to go swimming. Once completing the hike down at the bottom, I'd suggest walking over to the rocks shore area for easier access to the pool in front of the falls. Overall, Stinging Fork Falls immerses you in the heart of the great outdoors. Swimming here is like a therapeutic getaway that pauses time. It can help strengthen your inner soul. When the sun is shining, this place lights up the forest in a magical way. I had the falls to myself on a Monday afternoon at the end of August and I contemplated..."can it get any better than this"??? Once finished, it's a little tricky exiting out of the gorge as the incline is sort of steep, but once approaching the staircases, you're in the clear and it's a pleasant return back to the parking lot trailhead.
