Sanger Ridge Elementary School

Best elementary school in Stillwater according to everyone, teachers, parents, former teachers, and…read morepeople who never even had kids. Apparently Highland Park is #2 but I've never been there. Stillwater has 4 public elementary schools, one public middle school, one private elementary and middle school, and one public high school. Sangre Ridge is located next door to the middle school across the street from some of the more affluent neighborhoods. That's probably why it's ranked as best, more of the wealthier kids attend here. There are 2 large playgrounds and basketball courts. Sidewalks all the way to 19th street, plus 2 crossing guards on duty during the busy drop off and pick up times. Every teacher and classroom we've delt with has been awesome. Parking is limited, if there is a school event be prepared to park in a neighborhood and walk! It's really hard to find a house in Stillwater, epically in this school district. Berry Creek is pretty much your only option.

By the time her FAFSA finally processed just three days before classes we finally learned what her loans and scholarships would be, and it wasn't enough to afford attendance. We had already paid a $300 housing deposit to hold her spot (which we understood at the time was for housing, not enrollment). When we realized she couldn't afford to attend, we immediately unenrolled before classes even began. Despite that, OSU is now charging her a $250 "late withdrawal" fee and an additional $42 overnight stay fee that was added a month later. I've spoken to multiple departments and no one is willing to remove these charges -- even though the entire situation stemmed from FAFSA delays and financial hardship, not neglect or intent to misuse university resources. It's disheartening to see a large, well-funded university insisting on fining a student who simply couldn't afford to attend due to financial aid timing. This feels wrong and deeply unfair, and I hope OSU will reconsider how it handles cases like hers in the future. BUYER BEWARE they will tack on many fees.

I'm not a sports fan at all but it was really cool to see the marching band and performances at halftime. They have the same school colors as my high school (orange & blue). Oh, and good luck emailing the staff because you will be waiting weeks for an answer! It took them 8 months to inform me that the bookstore could not find the books I returned, no receipt, no confirmation, but instead of trying to investigate, the university decided to send me to collections two years later, even after I called the bookstore and agreeing that they made a mistake, but not official communication happened, so now I have to try to prove that they had the ISBNs from 2021. Terrible university!
