I'm assuming the bad reviews are from when he was doing pain management with…read moreopioids, and everything was falling apart because the government was telling Drs they had to take their patients off pain medications; so, there are a lot of unhappy patients posting bad reviews about him. I went through him to get my medical card and yes, you do have to pay before your appointment and it's $205. I don't know where people are getting these crazy numbers of it costing way more than that, but it doesn't. Everything is done remotely. Everything was super smooth and there weren't any issues at all. I got my medical card the following day, even though it can take up to 30 days. Everything was super short, simple, and to the point. I never had an issue with Rachel, she has always been pleasant to deal with. I actually got my fiancé set up with an appointment, and he had the same great experience as I did. We even called him back and had a chemical eval done for court and they were just as thorough and pleasant as the first time. I've recommended them to several people. Don't go off those old reviews, they are inaccurate. 5/5 stars for me. Thanks Dr. Locketz and Rachel.

Folks, avoid this place. It was thankfully easy enough to "get certified" through the interview…read more(very easy when the man is clearly going to certify anyone), but Dr. Dodson is not someone that dots their i's or crosses their t's. He neglected to inform me at the end of the interview that there were extra steps to take to complete the process- apparently I was supposed to get a follow up e-mail with short forms that they never sent... and they only finally sent it when I got an email from the Minnesota Medical Cannabis' offices saying that my certification was expiring, and I called Dodson's office to investigate. Dodson rushes his video interviews, filling idle gaps in conversation with incredulous statements like "you're going to love medical cannabis, Jake... it both cures and prevents HIV..." as he hurriedly clicks through boxes and completely opts against any eye contact. The secretaries I've spoken to when calling will frequently interrupt you and talk over you, as did Dr. Dodson when he CALLED ME BACK to YELL AT ME/"correct" me for complaining to his secretary about not being informed of additional steps I needed to take. I suspect he and his staff are regular methamphetamine users, to be honest: it was just that poor and outlandish behavior to be using with a client. The only reason there's more than one star in this rating is because it is ~very~ easy to be diagnosed as certified for medical cannabis through him I had my video recertification with Dodson on July 24th after seeing mine was expiring August 10th: it is currently August 19th and I just discovered upon calling my dispensary to place an order that I have to wait until the Medical Cannabis Office re-certifies me. Dr.Dodson is a stand up kind of guy. The insurance companies are almost impossible to get through…read moreto make a prior authorization. My pharmacy was rude to me about the situation and I know the difficulty the doctor has; once he got message of the pharmacy being rude , I had my medicine within 10 minutes. Also, the medical marijuana registry was so easy and Dr.Dodson was very supportive.
