Ryan Moss associate of Stewart Mc Kelvey was assigned my file after Sophie Mac Donald was called to the bar. In the beginning he seemed competent and capable of bringing my case to trial. it didn't take long to realize his only objective was to submit billed hours for both himself and a paralegal for similar work. Requests for copies of work that were billed to me went unanswered. After several thousands of dollars of billed hours I fired Ryan Moss. I have obtained new counsel and not surprisingly my case is moving forward. It is my opinion that that with regards to this lawyer " it is a buyer beware ". Watch your billed hours , request to be cc'd on work he performs , and have a paper trail. I was with this firm for several years under another associate with no issues. Absolutely the worst experience ever! Our lawyer was a waste of our time and money. We did not only loose the case because of the lack of attention to detail, but our lawyer failed to show us any "evidence" that was brought up against us, therefore we had no information to rebuttal to; which ultimately led to the judge making a decision against our request. The lawyer did not put us first, they actually were extremely friendly with other lawyer who was defending the other party, like to the point where it made you question who they were working for. Any request that was made to add any evidence that painted the other party in a bad light was ignored. We were told that we just had to accept the decision in the end and move on because there was nothing else we could do. So, no I would not recommend this firm for any legal aid , especially in child custody matters. If the morals of this lawyer spread across the board, save your money and do your research . We are now 17,000 in and are potentially looking at having to claim bankruptcy because of the lack of attention to our case. Keep in mind just because a lawyer is expensive does not mean your getting a good or competent one.
