Dr B is great with all ages and uses a variety of techniques to adjust you to make sure the care is just right for you. The RMTs are both really great and professional. It is so nice to have the choice and know you can't go wrong, as each of my family members have their preference. Also you can't forget the acupuncture! We've seen Carter and he amazing at 'reading' your body to find out the root of your ailments. It was amazing what my ears, hands and wrists told him. I just sat there and confirmed everything he discovered. I combined a massage and then acupuncture treatment the other day... fabulous! I left feeling like I had just had a spa day. After 3 sessions with a chiropractor, I felt no progress whatsoever, so I tried physical therapy. I had 7 sessions with the physiotherapist and even bought TENS machine. My leg was so painful and even Tylenol would not help me reduce the pain. Searching online for acupuncturist I came across Dr. Wang's website where I found details about how he approached and treated different cases. I found my case as in one of his cases and decided to try him as well. Keep in mind that I exhausted all venues with no positive results, not considering the cost involved. Dr. Wang was very honest during the first appointment and told me that if I see no improvement by the end of the fourth session, it means that acupuncture is not the solution to my problem. I decided to go ahead and take the 4 sessions package at the rate of $40/hour (many acupuncturists in Vancouver charge $120/hour). Every session with Dr. Wang included acupuncture and herbs therapy. My benefits pay for $500 a year of this type of treatment, so I thought why the heck not. The reason for my visit was stress management, and I was surprised that this Asian lady could not only speak mandarin, she could also speak french and English. She started with putting about ten different pins in me (some where at the top of my head, on my shin, hands, and feet....kind of felt like a pin cushion lol) Then she did something called acupressure where there were these seed like things put on my ear (on specific pressure points) some were painful, some gave me goose bumps. The session also included a massage & some cupping on my back, and I have these kind of hickey looking things. Looks kind of funny but I did feel like I was floating when I left the office. It was ok with me. I was surprised when she told we are done after 15 minutes of acupuncture and 15 minutes of massage. Front desk girl pointed Janet that it was 1 hour. She said fine, give her $10 discount (for a half session, oh well) and left to treat another patient! I asked to call Janet back and told you that's not right, I am not going to agree with such a "deal". She asked if I have an insurance on file, I didn't. Janet started talking about "15 minutes cleaning ", but it wasn't said anywhere that cleaning is included in fee. Her next argument was that I stopped the treatment, I said no, I just asked to remove needles and continue with massage. Then, the doctor suggested me to go back and continue massage for half an hour, I refused. After all her tricks, she said: leave if you don't wanna pay. Such a wonderful customer service Janet! Lovely. Nevertheless, I paid half a price. Really disappointed because heard a lot of good reviews. My partner also had a good experience. Very very sad, I've been waiting for this appointment for 1 month! Janet, how could you? The saddest part is that my partner and I wanted to go to naturopath and chiropractor doctors. We are able to invest our $$$ and good attitude to the clinic. We liked its website and google reviews as we are new to the area and we follow recommendations online. After trying for 2 days to get somebody to pick up the phone here I was finally able to speak with the receptionist to confirm that they did gift certificates and would be open until 7:00pm. (On Valentine's Day) I pulled up to the door just before 6:30pm only to find it locked with nobody in sight. I waited a couple of minutes and a man (RMT Allan Portelance according to their website) reluctantly came to the door to see what I needed. I very excitedly told him that I was there to pick up a gift certificate for a one hour RMT massage for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. He said there was nothing he could do because the receptionist had left and he "didn't deal with that stuff" I was a bit taken back and told him again that it was for a Valentine's Day gift and that the sign next to us on the door, as well as the confirmation from the receptionist earlier in the day stated that they were open for another full 30 minutes. Allan again said there was nothing he could do and shut the door on me walking away. I understand that customer service seems to be a bit of a lost art these days, but this place is clearly lacking in professionalism and good business practices as well. I would not recommend going here if you want a good experience.
