As this attorney's former client, please do your homework. He has previous violations - you can contact the OR State Bar Referral Service for yourself to confirm. He does not listen to his clients and feels he has carte blanche to do as he pleases despite what was agreed upon in consultation. If you ask him to stick to the original agreement, he drops you and keeps the check. I have hard documentation to prove everything I'm stating.
Hiring this attorney can be detrimental unless one does not have any guidelines and wants an attorney to have carte blanche. If so, then he's perfect. We, however, did not.
We have a time sensitive case and he cost us a major amount of time. I am trying to save others from the same heartache. None of this is personal - it's 100% business. Again, we discussed the focus and agreed on certain aspects, then Steve diverted from that agreement, made statements which jeopardized our case, and expected us to do whatever he said. I have a top degree and education plus expertise in fraud as a former CISA - we just needed someone with a JD to provide leverage against a fraudulent claim that may cost us a $20k asset. This attorney has caused harm to us (his own clients) - he's done it multiple time before and been caught.
Violations are like cockroaches - for everyone one that comes into the light, there are thousands that are hidden.
