My husband and I learned about Karrie Gavin through the Mt. Airy Parents Network forum. I checked…read moreout her reviews and they were stellar so I contacted her and she responded immediately. Although we had already done a ton of research on the towns/schools/areas that we were interested in, Karrie was able to answer any additional questions we had about our top two neighborhoods. We only saw a few houses with Karrie and very quickly found "the one"! In the houses that we saw with Karrie she definitely gave us a good perspective as to what is typical/unique about each property. Since she has seen a ton of houses in her lifetime it was nice to have answers to almost every question we had (is this a large space for the price point, are yards for this style of house typically this size, etc.) My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the home-buying process and we do not think it could have been as speedy and pleasurable if it wasn't for Karrie. She walked us through every detail and went above and beyond what we were expecting from a realtor. She really knows her stuff - and despite the overwhelming paperwork and minor details involved with buying a home we never had any doubts and felt very comfortable when it came to finalizing decisions. On a side note: Karrie has a lot of connections and recommendations when it comes to all the other steps you have to go through when buying a home. For instance, you need a good home inspector and mortgage lender and sometimes you need to get estimates and require professionals such as a roofer and a contractor who can put numbers together for you quickly. Karrie not only had contacts for each of these professionals but they all were excellent to work with and proved to be timely and reliable. My husband and I are very independent and, to be honest, we don't always do well when we have to ask for help or rely on others. The idea of having to trust someone that you have only just met with guiding you through this colossal process was frightening. The highest compliment I can give to Karrie is that she made us comfortable from the very beginning and she always had answers and a plan. She asked us what we wanted to do of course, since it's our decision, but she was very good at explaining the upside and downside of each decision and the potential results. The truth is that we've never bought a house before and we had to admit that we were novices. Karrie made us feel like experts. What more can you ask from your representative in the home buying process? We had to bring our young son along with us to our first meeting and to a few house viewings and she was extremely flexible and patient. She has two boys herself so it was nice to work with someone who understands the challenges that arise with a toddler in tow! We really did have a wonderful experience and are now getting settled in our new home (which we LOVE!) I highly recommend Karrie Gavin to one and all!

I'm surprised I'm the first person to write a review for Colleen because she's AMAZING! If you…read moredon't have time to read the whole entire review below, all you have to know is you will not regret having Colleen help you with your house search. No need to look further. I promise. If you have time, here's our experience with Colleen: My boyfriend and I recently moved from the New York Metro area to Philadelphia for my job. My company's relocation team helped me with finding a trusted Realtor in the Philly area and how fortunate we were it was Colleen who we were paired with! Lucky us! To give a little background, in the past 5 years I've lived in four different states. While it's always fun to think about living in a new city, the worst part of it all is trying to find a place to live - especially in a bigger city like New York and Philadelphia. I was dreading having to look for a new apartment. To compound to the stress, we pretty much only had two weeks to pack our current apartment, find a new place, and move. While we can list out about 100 things that's amazing about Colleen, here are the two which meant the most to us: 1. She is VERY knowledgeable about the Philadelphia area - Since we've never visited Philly, we really had no idea which neighborhood would be a good fit for us. While we were driving around the city, Colleen took time to explain to us the different neighborhoods (Rittenhouse Square area, Society Hill, Washington Square) - what the vibe was like, what restaurants/bars are good, shopping, how to get around, etc. She even drew us an awesome map to follow so we won't forget the areas we were in after we went back to the hotel! It was a great way for us to see if the neighborhoods we were checking the apartments in fit with our lifestyle. We learned so much about the city from her. 2. She gets to know her clients - Since I'm in Marketing, I can't help but say the reason why Colleen is awesome is because she understands the basics of marketing 101. She understands the wants and needs of her clients. She does this by getting to know her clients, and because she made the effort to get to know us she knew what would be a great fit for us. I'd say she probably had 20+ apartments on her yellow paper as options for us to visit on our rental tour (which she contacted the landlord or building to set-up appointments prior to us visiting). Did we visit all of it? Nope. And it's not because she was lazy, it's because after spending time with us she knew what type of apartments and/or neighborhoods were a good fit for us. She prioritized those the places which fit our needs first. The only problem we had after our rental tour was having to pick only ONE place to live! Definitely a good problem to have! Once we finally decided to put in an application in, she made life easier for us by handling the paperwork and more. We went on a tour on Sunday, debated for 2 days which apartment to pick, and by the end of the week we were approved for move-in:) The most painless apartment hunting I've ever had in my life! It's been a month since we moved in and we love where we are. There is no doubt in our minds we would not be as happy as we are if it wasn't for Colleen. I'll recommend her to ANYONE who needs help finding apartments or houses in Philadelphia. Trust me, she will get the job done and you will not regret.
