They are top-notch in billing hours and making excuses for depositions, extra discovery, long-winded questions requiring long-winded answers because at the end of the day Paul Shaw only appears about charging clients as much as possible. Incredibly condescending and unprofessional who charges quite a steep rate to his clients. If you are looking for REAL legal support in your moment of need I would encourage you to go elsewhere because the only thing you are going to receive from Paul Shaw is a massive legal bill. With all the attorneys in the Birmingham area, there are much much better options for representation in family law. And do not believe any of the "Best Lawyers in BHM" stuff that Paul Shaw seems to always be apart of when they are published. Those are merely paid advertisements. He certainly isn't the best, nowhere near it. And for what you pay for his representation you could do much better.

Mr Shaw had more than one plan for any possibility. Communication was top-notch - I consistently heard from an attorney or a superb paralegal if I needed anything or had a question; I was copied on all correspondence and always knew the status of our case and our plans. I felt that billing was fair and consistent and I wasn't nickled-and-dimed. The firm was well worth every dollar spent. In the end, I was well represented and recommend the firm without any hesitation.

I was somewhat reluctant to trust another law firm but Boyd, Fernambucq & Dunn was highly recommended by several people whom I trust so I went to talk with Mr. Fernambucq. Three years down the road after my divorce and I am still in awe of how well he and his staff handled the negotiations. Both Mr. Fernambucq and Mr. Dunn are incredibly experienced and knowledgable. Their representation made a tremendous difference in my life; they were tireless advocates for me and my children.
