The only slightly annoying bit is the transition from the 3rd green to the 4th tee - if you don't know the course it is quite difficult to find. Thankfully there was a queue on the 1st tee (which you walk by on the way) to direct us the first time around.

The reason I like to reintroduce myself to golf via Stepaside most years is that it is a very forgiving course!! Its one of the longer courses out there with a good number of par 4's and a few 5's... The fairways are long and wide and although the greens are a bit unkept at times its a super course considering how cheap it is! And cause its public no membership required just rock up on the morning and hope the rest of Dublin doesn't have the same golfing ambitions as you that morning!

The club house has all the expected facilities and the food served both in the dining room and the bar area is of good quality. Out of 100, 20 to 25 are ok if you are lucky. Its sad as they totally take their location for granted by raking in the money and not putting it back in. They have practice bays that have automatic tees. So many of these don't work. They are never repaired. The targets from 10 yards to 50 yards are non existent. You cannot practice those short shots without going out to the front where they try an charge €5. The bunkers and green are like a building site. The attitude of the staff is so poor. They sit there like they are sucking lemons. They can be talking to each other and you feel like you're interrupting them. There are other occasions when you can be waiting for 10 to 15 mins for someone. Stepaside is the only competition nearby. That is a bit further away. It frustrates the hell out of me. What a great place it can be if it was run properly. I'm not the only person that thinks this. I've spoke to many people up there. I know the question is asked why do I still go there. The reason is its a halfway house where I meet a family member weekly. We both love golf. Guys in Leopardstown Driving range, you have a great location and a superb opportunity to make the current scenario into an amazing business. Please do something about it!!!!!!!

Prices for a round with 18 holes was €9.00 per adult, €8 per kid (with family bundle prices available) and boom, hook up with this place on a Tuesday evening and it's 2 rounds for the price of 1. They have two trails ye can use, Mayan and Aztec so different features and layout but each had enough easy putts as well as the more challenging. There is loads of audio noises to replicate being in the jungle so this adds a little fun to it and they animations, monkeys in the trees, there was also a swinging monkey so there was little surprises along the route. Play is kitted out well, there is lockers available to dump the jackets, handbags, etc. however they work with a €1 coin deposit system so come prepped with a €1 coin or the friendly staff can help break a note for you. There is also a cafe onsite, so you can hangout pre/post game... Usual options of teas/coffee/soft drinks and some snacks. There is also a gift store which I am sure the kids just love and is possibly one of them things parents resent (Mam, Dad... I want, I want....) Really enjoyed my evening here and would love to come back with another group of friends or treat my nieces and nephews here some day.
