Tragically, my 5 and 8-year-old children experienced a traumatic incident that should never have happened in daycare. Morgan, a white administrator at the school, has a white son. He told my black son that he doesn't like brown people. I wasn't informed immediately, and the matter was downplayed once I did find out. Morgan denied knowing where her son heard that and claimed he has family members of color. However, it's important to remember that having family members of color doesn't shield anyone from the influences they encounter. The foundation of this is at home. The school failed to take this matter seriously. The child should have been expelled immediately, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. As a mother, I did my best to handle the situation and educate my children about the harsh realities of life. When my children began returning home each day with new problems, and the staff expressed their confusion about the "tension" between families, I was deeply disappointed. This is particularly concerning, given that the daycare is owned by people of color. After two years of attending this daycare, I've come to realize that we were merely another statistic, with our well-being seemingly disregarded. Every daycare has its advantages and disadvantages, and here are mine: Cons: The daycare has a high turnover rate, poor communication between administrators, teachers, and parents, and inconsistent incident reports. Pros: Some teachers genuinely care about the children, the location was convenient for my family, and they were flexible when my income was temporarily reduced. However, the negatives far outweigh the positives, and I feel compelled to share this honest assessment.

They helped raise not one, but two of our children, and I cannot say enough good things about the care, love, and dedication of this place. Our son, Silas, attended Wildflower for two years before our youngest ever started. When our daughter, Sloane, joined later, it felt like coming home all over again. When Silas needed additional support that his elementary school couldn't provide, Wildflower welcomed him back with open arms without hesitation. That level of compassion and commitment is rare. We have absolutely loved every teacher we've had throughout the years. These are the only people I would ever trust with my children, to the point that we have even used Wildflower teachers as babysitters when needed. That alone speaks volumes about the trust and confidence we have in this team. Almost a year later, our youngest still asks if we can stop by just so she can give her teachers a hug, and I think that says everything about the kind of place Wildflower is. If you're looking for more than just a daycare, if you want a family to help raise your child while they're away from home. I highly recommend Wildflower Montessori. Our children are stronger, more confident, and more successful because of the foundation they received here, and we will forever be grateful.

Our kiddo is the youngest of two, so we have been through many daycares and providers in our time. To put a fine point on it, Wildflower is far and away the best provider we have found in our roughly 9 years of using multiple providers (and touring many more!) we were looking for something that takes the best of Montessori, but isn't so stuck in the Montessori world that kids aren't being taught to excel later in a more traditional education environment. Our son had attended a strict Montessori school prior and he tells us almost every day how much he *loves* school. They provide so many fun experiences to mix things up, aerial yoga, the KC zoo, the KC chiefs, and field trips to the bank and grocery stores--and all of that in just the last couple of months. Our son *adores* his teacher, and the environment does feel very much like a family. One that we're happy to be a part of. (I will note that I was not prompted to do a review, nor was I compensated in any way).

I walked in and immediately felt at peace. Garret, the director, is SO welcoming and so nice. Along with all her teachers who are so sweet! I definitely cried the first day and they were all very understanding and sent me lots of updates throughout the day. A trust was quickly built and I know my little one is in great hands! PLUS the facility is very clean and they have great procedures and schedules in place! I can go on forever, nothing but good things here! :)

I've been blown off by Garret, the director of the Parkville location. His boss, Jennipher has never responded to my emails, and when I requested to speak with the owner, again, I have never been contacted. It seems everyone has swept the problems under the rug. I would NEVER recommend your child go somewhere where they are not valued. Don't make the same mistake I did.

My child has attended this day care for seven months (since he was 3 months old). During this time…read morehe as been the victim of three separate accidents while in the care of this facility. He was allowed to roll backwards and hit his head on the wooden shelving, he was allowed to stand and fall and hit his face on the same wooden shelving and an older child was allowed to walk up to him and scratch his face in several places. In addition, he has contracted the hand, foot and mouth virus twice because they do not separate the carrier children once it is discovered that a child is sick. Instead, their protocol is to call the sick child's parents to pick them up asap, but then they leave them in the classroom with the other children until the sick child's parents arrive. I have also witnessed the infants sharing toys (from one mouth to the next) without first cleaning the toy. After voicing my concerns to the director, especially about not separating the kids sick enough to be sent home from the children who are well I received the response that they try to separate them as much as possible, but they don't have the staff to completely isolate them due to other responsibilities and tasks that need to be performed. What is more important than the health and safety of the children? I could never recommend this daycare to anyone in its current state.

The teachers are dedicated, caring, and consistent -- with far less staff turnover than what I've heard from friends and acquaintances at other daycares. The environment is warm and welcoming, and it truly feels like a family. We never had any security concerns, and whenever there was a situation that required parent notification, communication was always timely, professional, and transparent. This center was instrumental in helping me transition back into the workforce as a working mom, and I never once worried about my children's safety or care while they were there. I am so grateful for the support, stability, and love they provided our family. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a safe, nurturing, and reliable place for their children.

We owned a business next to the center shortly after, and often watched as staff would yell, belittle, and threaten small children sitting outside play. There was constant yelling coming from the classroom nearest to our shop. After complaining to the owners, the only difference was that that staff member took the children to the opposite side of the building to play, and installed black curtains to cover her classroom windows. Several close friends and customers have also shared their own personal horror stories from this daycare. I highly recommend not taking any child to them.
