Efficient check in, fun to drive our new Volvo XC 40 onto the ship. The staff are friendly and helpful. Onboard, it's clean as a whistle. We sailed from Denmark to Sweden in 3+ hours. Lovely ride. read more

Major push on soup and steak, waited way to long on service between dishes. Arrived 17:30 left 20:00 - with two kids age 5 and 7, we normally are in and out in 1,5 hour. As a bonus it was to pricey - 1000 DKK for 2 kids meals, 2 x soup/steak and a glass of wine

Paid extra for lounge access but the trip was so quick you could honestly do without it. Added bonus was chargers for our electric car! Seas are a bit rough during the crossing and apparently that is normal for crossing the North Sea. You'll probably not want to eat on the boat because of it. Kristiansand was a surprisingly adorable little town, if you have time before driving off to the fjords make sure to visit the fiskebrygga (fish market) across from the ferry terminal. They have excellent food! We booked Color Line car ferry on the way back from Norway to Germany so will be interesting to see how that one compares.

Boarding is a nightmare. It took well over an hour (thus losing the time advantage as the other ferry is way faster to board). They took a row here, a row there and it honestly felt like forever. Once on board, the ferry is nice enough. It has a higher class upstairs with nicer seating and a buffet option. We sat up there despite not having a ticket. The regular seats are fine too. Because the ferry goes faster, you really feel the choppier seas. Our entire trip was very choppy. If you get seasick this may not be the ferry for you. Getting off the ferry took way longer than Colour Line too. It's a faster trip across the water but the time it takes to board and then get off really negates any time savings.
Always a good experience, smiling service and great danish food…read more. Serves alot of the older danish dishes that Danes love so much.. It's a good idea to make reservations since this place is quite popular

Bathrooms a bit dated but still large and very functional. The hotel used to be the luxury hotel in Frederikshavn. Now they have completion but still the best in town. Laundry facilities are available and the staff is more than willing to assist you. The biggest complaint is that there is a discotheque-bar across the parking lot that has LOUD music after 11PM. All the rooms in the hostel face the parking lot and it is impossible to sleep until the bar closes. I would never stay here again even with earplugs.
