Pope Animal Hospital has been around for years, really as far back as I can remember. I've been…read morethere in the past. I've had two cats fixed there in the last ten years, and have taken others for shots. Normally, the vets give good service, but the receptionist that has been there for years is always rude, which causes me to use them as a last resort. Yesterday, I took my cat, who is 15 years old and was vomiting almost constantly. Like, every ten minutes. She wasn't eating and was vomiting clear liquids, and once there was blood. Obviously, it's horrifying. She's 15, some cats don't even make it that long. So, I took her there cause that was the vet that could get me in. She's never been before. Hawthorne is my go to Veterinary Hospital. Pope never asked her age. Never asked me her diet. Never asked me if she has any health issues. They did the brief basic physical of checking her teeth and listening to her stomach. That's all. They did an xray, then when that came up clean they're like "we can give you some nausea medication and send you home or run a blood panel and send the medicine with you". Okay, my cat can't eat and has lost three pounds, do the blood tests. Meanwhile, in the back the vet tech is cussing up a storm, which while I cuss, there is a risk of children coming in and hearing them. As they're packaging the medication for my cat another vet tech asks the doctor if it's for an adult cat and the vet's response was "Oh, I think so." Not only is my cat an adult, she's a senior. You don't treat a 5 year old cat the same as 15 year old. Then, after the blood is drawn, the vet passed the vials on to someone who is just standing there confused because they didn't have any communication as to what to do with it. The reason why I saw all this and could say anything, is the doctors office is set up to where you can see into their back room from an exam room. So I wasn't in the same room as them or else I would have taken my cat and walked out. Now, the test results were supposed to be back today. Doctors words were "if I don't call you tomorrow, you call me." I called. Twice. She never called back.

There? He was treated and of course had his shot but that doesn't prevent Your pet from getting it only not so bad Then there was an incident when I picked up my pop and he came Running to me shaking scared and peeing all over I asked what had happened to him And if he had Been locked Up all day I was assured That he wasn't but he Was trembling He was very scared of something and was again peeing everywhere I know my pet and I know that that was not his usual behavior something happened and I don't know what. Then About a week ago I took him again and within a couple days noticed his cough Sure enough I took him to the vet and he had kennel cough again. The vet had advised me that this is very highly contagious and that they could bleach everything but unless they closed their facility down for 2 weeks they. Were not going to clean this out as it is airborne of course they have not done that and I am very sure that this is going to continue to pass. Around to everyone's pets. Not to mention after a year and a 1/2 of going there never once had they asked me until just a few months ago for his shot record so they're. Not keeping up with insuring that these pets that are going there for day care have had their kennel immunization. The staff girls are friendly So it's unfortunate that it's not Is kept up to date with The immunizations. For the animals that are being brought in and it's a shame that they are not closing down to take care of this problem rather just let it keep. Being passed from animal to animal I have the vet records from both dates to back up

I went here a few years ago during COVID and I'm still upset by my visit so I decided to leave a…read morereview after browsing other vets in this area. I had two dogs getting vaccines and blood work. They opted to add a urine/fecal sample charge when I did not request this. They proceeded to say I would have to gather the samples myself. Fine, I can do that. The vet suggested multiple surgeries on my female black lab that was 13 years old. A tooth removal, cyst removal, and another procedure that I can't recall, totaling $1700. She did the same thing for my other dog, totaling $1500 which included a teeth cleaning and spay. When I left, they gave me the total for my two dogs wellness appointment that didn't last longer than 45 minutes, and it was almost $800. INSANE. I took my black lab to Ark Animal Hospital a few months later and showed her the printed sheet of suggestions the vet provided and she was horrified. She said it was borderline cruel to suggest those surgeries for a senior dog who is otherwise in good health. I will never return to this location and suggest everyone to get a second opinion before getting any surgeries from this location. Also, they are INCREDIBLY overpriced.

I have taken my kittie there too. They are always on time and their prices are more than fair plus they do not over medicate.
