After Having Fought Cancer Twice in the last 5 yrs and having to retire i decided as i was not destined to Pass Away in the near Future it was time for new Dentures. Being on Disability Benefit i knew it was going to be COSTLY, Although i am on my Wife's Medical Insurance, it did not cover the cost of this kind of Dental work. Initially the 1 app't was ok and i was told about the procedure and the time frame, I did have an issue that was a piece of broken tooth still in my Gum that did not cause me any distress at all, but the Dentist insisted it need to be removed and it was ok i would not be charged for this.
2nd app't was Terrible having been sat in the Dentist chair almost straight away, there then followed 35 minute wait, with no one at all telling me anything about why it was taking so long. I nearly left.. when the Dentist arrived i complained that nobody had informed me there was going to be such a long wait because i had another appointment to go to...he then spoke to the Nurse next to him Hinting about the procedure he did the week before and Emphasized the fact that he had removed a piece of Broken Tooth at no cost " as if he was Threatening to raise a Bill for it" Not Very Good at all i thought. Because he has the MEANS to Provide what i needed he thought he had POWER over me as a Customer, I am Ex British Military and will not stand for such Nonsense i told him if he needed to bill me then he should go ahead..... As if i would have PAID.?.. i would have left and not gone back... in Hindsight that is what i should have done.
2 More Appt's and we were getting close to my long awaited Dentures, Hopefully a pair i would be comfortable in and be able to eat food properly, Meanwhile " Dr Dentist " kept assuring me that he used to own his own Business where he Made Thousands of Pairs of Dentures and he knew what he was doing, and that Polygrip was my best friend, i told him if they fit correctly Polygrip would be of minimal use, again he had made 1000's of pairs. to which i said YES... but have never ever worn 1 pair of them, so don't tell me what is best. On the Day of collection i told him they did not fit correctly they were loose and when i bit they dropped inside my mouth, he again insisted on Polygrip.. i told him no they do not fit, he was not Happy that i was not Happy, and had to do a reline on them right there and then because i was not going to leave nor Pay until i was Happy. The reline worked well although this So Called Professional Finished them in a Hurry and VERY unprofessional manner, ie Sloppy and Crude grinding and filing work, i think just to get me out of there....
$2834 later and i have Dentures that do fit although not 100% i can eat better and with time my sore Gums should subside, I will be adjusting them myself with fine Emery paper and a Dremmel because i would not let this man Treat me ever again.
I cannot say this Dental Practice is BAD, all i can say is This Dr is who made my New Dentures was Unprofessional in his approach to me as a Patient, Unsympathetic, Crass, Rude, Arrogant, DEAF, and Rough, because he never listened to a word i said, only wanted to Bragg about how many 1000's of Dentures he had made. He said i was a Very determined man, and so i should be, My Disability Benefits are less than $600 a month, these Dentures were 5 months worth of Money to me.
George... and they will know who i am. read more
