Only place around to get a good haircut where the barber (John) takes his time does a thorough job. Be prepared to wait though. Only 1 chair and the old geezers line up be for he even opens. And he only works Mon-Fri, so unless you're retired or not working during the week, then you probably need to find someplace else. read more

Again a home town favorite. I usually shave or buzz my hair myself. My wife and I have been together since Oct 2001, Halloween actually, and this is the first time she has even seen me with hair. It's been growing about 8 months, but it's too hot. Summer is coming up and it's time to cut the hair off. That being said this is my first barber visit in probably 30 years. This guy did a fantastic job. Reasonably priced, quick, and clean. He brushed the cut hair off, vacuumed my neck and head, and gave me a hot towel neck rub. Excellent barber. I went here for 4 years while stationed at Lewis. He places so much attention to detail that it's never a haircut to be rushed. I always had to plan for about 20 minutes in the chair, plus a wait, but I never regretted it. I've visited this shop when we've been in the area visiting family. I love the old fashioned shop and the attention to detail of the barber. Hot towel, massage, and professional. I try to save my regular haircut schedule so that I can get a haircut here. My son also gets his cuts here. Definitely a 30 minute haricut and you may have to wait but it's a pleasant shop and worth the wait. Highly recommended. read more

I usually go to on post barber but I wanted to find a place on the way home to get a cut (Lakewood) an it found this place. Holy shit, I will never go anywhere else. What everyone else has said, best haircut of my life. I tipped him 6$ but felt I wanted to tip more. He takes awhile to do it but him cutting hair is like painting a fine piece of art. He gives 150%. After he cuts your luscious locks with the same care as Michelangelo carving marble, the barber will then trim your eyebrows, take a straight razor to any stray hairs on your neck, and then take out an industrial strength deep tissue massage machine that must've cost $300 at the Sharper Image to your shoulders.
