10+ years of good service but today not happy I was running late even called to say running late…read morestep in about 12 minutes late and still they would not see my pet. Service has gone down hill and they are not going to accommodate you without letting you know it is inconvenient. The care is good and the Vets are good -no issue there.

My first red flag should've been the fact that they had open availability when no other vet in town…read moredid but I was rushing to get my dog updated on her shots and a badly needed nail trim. The woman who took care of our pup was less than personable, the tone almost condescending through the phone and during the appointment although that wasn't the issue as I understand that some people are just like that whether they are at work or in their personal life. One of the first things this woman blurted out to 2 young kids in their 20's was "I can see some buildup on her teeth so she'll need a cleaning. That runs around $600 for anesthesia" and a list of other things in a teeth cleaning I cannot remember at this time. My dog is only three years old it's not like she's old with a huge amount of tartar buildup. There was no "I recommend this chew" or "try brushing with this toothpaste" and this was on top of the $300 some bill for her shots and other extra things that she was recommending that day. My pup requires care and i understand that will cost money but to hit us with a total of $900 in expenses in the first 5-10 minutes of our appointment left a bad taste in our mouth. I'm reading other reviews that sound like I am not the first person to feel as if they are just trying to get as much money as they can out of their patients. I canceled my next scheduled appointment and will be going elsewhere from now on.

Super impressed by every aspect of this practice! Megan at the front desk was so sweet to my dog…read moreGracie (lots of treats!) & we had a lovely chat while I waited. It was short tho & Kinley came to take us to the room which was large, clean & well equipped. We began discussing Gracie's arthritis & I looked over to see the vet on the floor engaging with my dog! Dr. Holstrom was so kind & extremely thorough with Gracie's exam. I had questions about some lumps & how to treat them. She gave me several options & explained them thoroughly. We reviewed all of Gracie's health matters. Head to toe. The Dr. & Kinley really made me feel like they cared about Gracie & her well being. They were so great with my dog, but also fantastic with me, too. It was so nice to talk with them. This was my first visit to Pleasant Valley & they've got it ALL right. Lovely, clean, well maintained building & exam rooms; warm, friendly receptionists; short wait times; knowledgeable Dr. who is as good with people as she is with animals; technology (a very useful & easy to use app); & all these people are loving on my dog every step of the way. This is our retirement home so we are customers forever! I have already recommended Pleasant Valley to family and friends!

We have three dogs in our family, two of whom have some kind of crazy skin Allergy (with…read moreinflammation) in their paws and on lower legs. We brought these two dogs to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and we were so extremely impressed and wonderfully treated. Regrettably, one of our dogs is in fairly serious condition and the vet there recommended that we take him to a specialty veterinarian clinic that has an internist type physician for dogs to address his significant problems. What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. So, the bottom line here is, if you want a veterinarian that is more concerned about the health and well being of your animal, rather thanher profit margins, I recommend that you take your animals to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and have a Veterinarian with incredible knowledge and integrity there take care of your pets. Truly impressive, truly inspiring, we couldn't be more grateful.
